Travel Cayman staffer fined for curfew breach
(CNS): A staff member of Travel Cayman, the department that oversees the COVID-19 protocols for unvaccinated travellers and people in isolation, was issued with a ticket on Tuesday by the RCIPS for an incident involving a breach of quarantine that took place on Monday, 28 March, according to the Ministry of Border Control and Labour.
Active COVID-19 cases rise as variant spreads
(CNS): Public Health officials said Tuesday that there are an estimated 522 active cases of COVID-19 in the Cayman Islands that have been officially reported, as concerns mount that the significant decline in community transmission earlier this month is now being reversed as the latest highly contagious Omicron BA.2 variant appears to be spreading.
Rolling daily average COVID cases on the increase
(CNS): The seven-day rolling average for new cases of COVID-19 has increased to 40, the Public Health Department said Monday, after falling into the 20s earlier this month. Around 100 new cases were reported to officials this weekend. There are an estimated 478 active cases and three people are in hospital.

(CNS): Public Health said there was another “COVID-related death” last week, bringing the total number in the Cayman Islands to 23. The latest patient was one of two who died sometime between 5 and 12 March, both unvaccinated and suffering from severe comorbidities.
