No law enforcement on the roads of Grand Cayman with the expected results. Drive accordingly.

A bus service run by Gov’t is the only way for less stupid, inexperienced drivers from having accidents. Being able to purchase second hand cars in poor condition is one problem. The other problem is the person who owns the car can’t afford to purchase insurance. Gov’t has to block old cars from coming in like Japan does. Once they reach certain age there’re banned.

4:42, I agree with you all the way. A proper public transport system, coupled with regulations to curve the importation of unfit vehicles (driven by those who hardly ever sat in a car much less owned one).

Why in the hell does it have to get out of hand before the Government finally get off their backside to act?!!

Errr, don’t we buy all of the old cars from Japan. What should we do, sell ours on to Cuba? I think Cubans with half a brain cell wouldn’t touch the myriad of Honda Civics and Accords with ‘upgrades’ like spikes over the wheel nuts, red foglights at the front (for all that Cayman fog), suspension lowered for a country with flooding issues and poor road surfaces.

For a lot of these cars, we should invite foreign armies to practice their artillery delivery.

This road is poorly designed. And neither maintained nor policed at all!

Living near to the accident site, I can honestly say that I am sure that there will be a fatality sooner rather than later. This stretch of road is wacky races 24/7.

The surface is slick, people race to join stationary traffic just seconds ahead, people undertaking idiots who cruise in the right lane, cars turning across two lanes of traffic whilst having no protection from cars behind them.

There was already an incident with a couple of cars within the last year. One takes out a large section of the Ocean Club wall and ends up on its roof. Guess what, cars were uninsured. So we have crap drivers, in crappy old cars, driving badly.

    Police, please police this area.

Accidents happen. Happy to hear that the driver owned up to it and this did not result in another hit and run.

This won’t be the first (or last) time a road user was forced off the road by some maniac trying to get ahead of everyone else on that stretch of road. It has happened to me twice already in the last year. Only difference is that there was no pedestrian in the line of fire when it happened! Wait until the other car involved is found, then see what the actual facts were!
