Man injured by driver in single car smash

Cayman News Service(CNS): Police are investigating the circumstances of what appears to be a deliberate collision by a driver with a man he knew. The crash happened just before 11pm last night on Shedden Road near Dr Roy’s Drive. The 47-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of a list of road related offences, including dangerous driving, driving under the influence, and damage to property. The victim appears to have been hit by the car and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are being assessed, though they are not believed to be life threatening.

The driver has been released on police bail as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
