NCC chairman dies snorkelling
(CNS): McFarlane “Mac” Conolly (70), the chairman and original member of the National Conservation Council, died yesterday afternoon after getting into difficulties while snorkelling off Colliers Beach. The RCIPS said that officers were dispatched around 3:10pm following a report that someone was in distress on the shore off Austin Conolly Drive in East End.
Police seize loaded gun during weekend bust
(CNS): A 44-year-old Bodden Town man has been charged with the possession of an unlicensed, loaded gun and ammunition after a house on Pedro Castle Road in Savannah was searched Saturday morning. Police officers also recovered several packages of ganja and arrested a 26-year-old man and a 27-year-old man at the house.

Pensioners given access to more of their cash
(CNS): Pensioners in the private sector are being given access to more of their funds at retirement each year. The Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) has announced that the annual disbursement of funds under a Retirement Savings Arrangement (RSA) has increased by 9.5%, from $12,900 per year to $14,125.
