Provost appointed UCCI’s interim boss
(CNS) Governors on the board at the University College of the Cayman Islands have appointed Dr J.D. Mosley-Matchett to be the interim acting president and CEO of the college until a new full-time president and CEO has been appointed. Dr Mosley-Matchett currently serves as the college provost and VP of Academic Affairs.
She joined UCCI in 2009 as a seasoned educator with more than a decade of successful teaching experience at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She has a PhD in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Texas, as well as a law degree from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
The temporary appointment was made necessary after the current president, Dr Stacy McAfee, opted not to renew her contract.

08 @ 5:16 pm – You wonder? Have you worked in Cayman’s public sector? True professionals can’t flourish. Say no more.
Interim Acting. Deputy Chief. Acting Senior Officer. Deputy Assistant. Acting Deputy Assistant Chief. Deputy Acting Assistant Interim Senior Officer. Utter BS.
A lot of these people that you see coming here they don’t come here to help make cayman a better place they only come here to get rich and pull ass back to their country.cayman tax free remember.
Sure, some expats come to the Cayman Islands out of self-interest and for the money. I wouldn’t say that they come to “get rich”, because you don’t “get rich” earning a salary. In this case, we don’t know the full story; she may have come with great intentions but got tired of some of the nonsense that happens, the bureaucracy, the incompetence, in some cases, etc… Maybe whatever the Cayman Islands offered was not what she had signed up for. Maybe she had an emergency at home, sick parents, etc., who knows. So for you to claim that she came here to “get rich” is ridiculous at best.
2:46 pm. Anyone who walks into a job and is allowed to set his/her salary and allowances has the bull by the horn.
Why do you always comment that it was said before. Stop it.
I wonder why Dr McAfee who had such great plans for the College, elected not to renew her contract?,
She was too busy promoting her friends and sidelining and demoting the people who understood her modus operandi.
Likely, a better option was available for her. Surely UCCI didn’t expect her to stay indefinitely.
