(CNS): A local Bodden Town man was arrested by police Sunday on suspicion of indecent assault and gross indecency with a minor in connection with a sexually explicit video distributed on social media last Friday. The RCIPS has not named the man, who is currently in police custody, but CNS can confirm it is Errington Webster (54), who ran for office in the  2013 general election and was also considering running on the UDP ticket in 2017 but resigned from the party at the weekend. The indecent video, which was circulated widely last week, also led to Webster being assaulted by a relative of the minor involved.

Webster, a father of two and regarded as an upstanding member of the community, has served on a  number of boards and currently leads the Bodden Town Hurricane Committee. He spent over thirty years in the Cayman Islands Fire Service. He is a former PTA member at the Bodden Town Primary School, a one-time scout leader and a sports coach.

In the 2013 general election Webster polled 512 votes (just over 14%) in his local district of Bodden Town. During the run-up to the election he campaigned on a platform of honesty, integrity and good character.
