Moses Kirkconnell (PPM): Cayman Brac West and Little Cayman MLA,
Deputy Premier,
Minister of District Administration, Tourism and Transport (DATT).

Biography:

Kirkconnell was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2005. In 2012 he was named Deputy Leader of the Opposition (PPM) and since the May 2013 elections, he has been deputy premier and a Cabinet member, with a portfolio that includes District Administration (the Sister Islands), as well as tourism and transport.

Kirkconnell strongly pushed the proposal for the George Town cruise port, which came under heavy opposition from the community. Despite a $9 million campaign to promote it, the grass roots activist group, Cruise Port Referendum, collected enough signatures on a petition to force a people-initiated referendum on the matter. In light of the current challenges facing the cruise industry in Cayman and around the world, the government has now dropped the proposal.

He is a businessman based on Cayman Brac involved in retail, tourism, and the construction industry.
