Elvis selling hot peppers to finance campaign

(CNS): As he revealed his intention to take on the education minister in Cayman Brac East at the 2021 General Election, Elvis McKeever said he is not a rich man, but he believes he can sell enough hot peppers between now and Nomination Day to raise the $1,000 candidate deposit. McKeever will be running on a platform to legalise weed and to ensure that this time he can “vote for someone who will be loyal to me”, he said in his Facebook announcement.

He is a long-running proponent of the benefits of ganja, which has brought him in conflict with the law on a number of occasions. However, his campaigns and petitions to legalise the consumption, possession and cultivation of marijuana now attracts considerable support across the islands, as attitudes towards the currently illegal drug have changed dramatically over the last decade.

Despite his convictions, which could derail his candidacy, McKeever said that if Speaker McKeeva Bush can run again after his conviction for a violent offence, he should be allowed to run, too, given that his record is largely ganja related.

A criminal conviction does not automatically prevent a person from running for office unless it is a dishonesty offence or the conviction resulted in a sentence that is more than twelve months.

McKeever is planning on making a run in Cayman’s smallest constituency, Cayman Brac East, which has just 478 registered voters. He is the first person to announce a challenge to the incumbent, Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, who received 225 votes in 2017 in a head to head against former senior cop, Rudy Dixon.

Does not matter who gets in from CBE whether it be the incumbent or ganja man. One of already on the same team with the incumbent for CBW/LC and the other has been associated with the same incumbent and his family for donkey years.

So all this hype about ganja man is all for nothing. CBE and CBW/LC will have two people on the same team no matter what.

Bless him! I give him credit for being consistent though.

It is called PRECEDENT. If MacBeater was allowed to stay even after having admitted to campaign bribing and being caught on video beating up a woman, then why not a ganja farmer? Or a pimp? Or a drug pusher? We the voters were too chicken to miss one lunch hour to plant ourselves across the street from Parliament to demand that MacBeater resign, so we get what we deserve. And apparently, the Elections Law does not prohibit that thug from running again in WBW. So, tough *&%# (Shrug)

If he needs $1,000 in a hurry he should sell weed and promise to legalise hot peppers.

CNS could you please find out how we can help/donate to him?
If we can take a chance on the current ministers, we sure as hell should take a chance on Mr. McKeever.

That should tell you just where we are as a country.

    Elvis tells ya it straight

Juju hollers Leviticus in parliament when two gay adults want to commit to each other consentually, then literally turns the other cheek to a woman beater.

If all of his customers from his old shoppe vote for him, he will win by a landslide.

But the Minister he is talking about is busy giving away $1,200 voucher total per house for backyard farming.

Like him or not, Elvis is always on the Brac, is straight forward with his opinions – yet he takes a beating from people simply because of his view on ganja.

Elvis, I cant vote for you but I gonna come look for you soon and buy some hot peppers.

Really would like to see a change of representation in your district – let the current representative preach at Red Bay and Watering Place Church.

He does beating all right. Make McKeever look like a Sunday school teacher. It’s not the weed mentality that has people against him. Check his police records well and come back please.

    Go Elvis!

You have to promise your constituents that you’ll be accessible. You are going to have to dress up in Parliament. I would guess that you have more support than your realise.
