And if the homeowners gave this low life the justice he deserved, people would be in here calling for their arrest.

We continue to be left defenceless by uncaring and unconcerned people in positions of authority.

Need to beat the hell out of these low life good for nothing croocks. The law are for the criminals. When the guy caught the crook/thief robbing his instruments from his truck. He beat the crook and got charged for doing that, they said he used excess force, what a bunch of crap, they the law should said the man should beat the crook/thief more than what he did. When one get charged for beating a crook/thief, how can we stop robbers/crooks in these Islands ?

How can we stop robbers/crooks in these Islands ? Having a law permitting the good guys to have legal firearms would be a great start!

It’s proven that allowing people guns is a surefire way to increase homicides, suicides, accidental discharges, officer involved shootings, all at the same time as not protecting homeowners.

The proliferation of guns means that criminals will also routinely arm up. The chances of a kid taking a gun to school will also increase exponentially.

        Sounds like a great plan.

Also factor in that your average person here in Cayman cannot control an automatic Honda, so don’t even suggest they can be trusted with a firearm.

Shhhh these people don’t want facts or data, UNLESS it justifies their WANT to own guns.

The same way you and I are aware of the facts, they could be too but they obviously don’t want to be. I mean just look at all the anonymous tough guy comments like “Shoulda been my yard”… delusional idiots. They don’t even see how ignorant they are.

          *News flash*
If someone is brazen enough to break into a house with someone in it, do you really think they give a damn whether the homeowner is a gun owner or one of these invincible tough guy commenters? No, they are just going to make sure they have a bigger gun with beaucoup rounds in a clip so long you can lean on it …

and be more inclined to use it.

These clowns don’t want to install lights or security cameras but they are all for glocks and mossbergs in the house. As if owning a gun magically prevents home invasions.

Time to be proactive, we’ve got to treat thugs/ criminals like dirt before they have the chance to rob us.

  6. Anonymous says:

Shoulda been my yard. Betcha that would be the end of their career as a burglar.

  7. Elvis says:

I cant even imagine how this must feel and I’m a big grown ass man.
Entering someones home in the dead of night to rob them knowing families are sleeping is the lowest of the low and most arrogant of offenses.
I know one will be leaving in an ambulance from my home and it wont be me.

Disgraceful, life sentences for these criminals please, just like this low life Connor on the other article.

Likely an elderly man, just being stand-up, taking care of his own.

I wish we had a legal way to protect ourselves. It’s not the RCIPS’ fault; they can only respond after the fact and investigate. They have gotten a few burglars/criminals lately. Good job. I understand why (I think) citizens shouldn’t carry weapons on the street, but why oh why aren’t stun guns or capsicum spray allowed in your home? Surely not that old saw about the household’s weapons being used against them? How crazy is that??

I guarantee you that nobody that breaks into my home will accidentally stumble upon the bludgeons and bladed weapons hidden here. Why make it so hard for people? Why not give them a fighting edge?

Motion alert cameras on every corner with a GPS inside of every vehicle including the motorcycle. I sleep better at night.

No, it’s not, but it’s the world in which we live. I hope if someone ever breaks into my home when I am home that I will be able to prevail and properly brain them, hopefully just enough to subdue them for RCIPS pickup and processing.

So, I have taken to using a walking stick wherever I go. It fits with my appearance. It is made of Spanish Elm. It can take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. I hope I and everyone else can devise tools of self defense, since the government clearly doesn’t want us to have that ability. Must be nice to have servants and guards and live within gated communities.
