(CNS): Patrick Derval Williams (26), who was arrested in March during a police raid close to Archie’s Bar in George Town, off Shedden Road, has admitted having an unlicensed loaded revolver. When he appeared in Grand Court Friday, Williams pleaded guilty to having both the gun and ammunition and is now facing at least seven years in prison when he is sentenced in July. Williams, who is in custody, was arrested after he tried to run away during the bust. When he was apprehended by the officers, the weapon was found in his waistband.

Williams is no stranger to guns and was involved in a pistol-whipping fight with a man outside Wellie’s Cool Spot in 2020. As noted in court, Williams and Ivan Malik McField were caught on CCTV “bashing each other over the heads” with the firearms during a dispute over a girl.

So the benefit of going around with an illegal firearm is to lead a glamorous life driving an old red Honda Fit rental. Crime really does pay. Lolz.

Really George? Would there be an admission if he were not trying to avoid a very lengthy sentence?

Were all of the patrons and staff wearing masks when the raid occurred? If not, why were they not all arrested?

Any prospect of deportation? Is anyone even checking?

17 @ 5:19pm – I struggle with you, but I surmise it may have something to do with the fact that our judicial system, from cops to judges, is dominated by a certain nationality, which in our society, is also responsible for much of the gun crimes.

“Caymanian papers” aside, nationality is the inherent (and inherited) cultural fibre which identifies one, and while some may be local-grown, many of these gun-toting criminals are NOT inherently Caymanian!

RCIPS, do you care to comment?

Sure. We’re the RCIPS. Our job is to arrest criminals and charge them with crimes. It’s the job of the Crown to convict them and the job of WORC to deal with immigration.

Is it just me being slow, but struggling to understand how a man caught pistol whipping another with a firearm in 2020 was on the street in 2022? Carrying a firearm of course.
