| 07/01/2025 | 11 Comments

(CNS): Police are on the hunt for two men who broke into a home near the North Sound Estates in Bodden Town during the early hours of Friday, 3 January. The resident arrived home sometime before 12:30 that morning and found the door open and two masked men inside the house, brandishing knives.

The victim ran from his home and got into his vehicle with the masked burglars in pursuit. As they then attempted to flee, one of the masked men was hit by the victim’s vehicle.

Both suspects then ran off, heading south down Leeward Drive. They were described as being around 5 feet 9 inches tall, slim, and dark-skinned, wearing black clothing and face masks.

Detectives investigating the aggravated burglary are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the suspects or have any information to call the Bodden Town CID at 947-2220. Anonymous tips can be provided to the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or the website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Cayman Crime Stoppers website.

Lucky he got home just in time and got away safely. It’s shame though that he didn’t follow them in his car.

However I’m sure he was rattled and didn’t have time to think.

Where was the robber hit? Should the public be looking for someone with a broken foot? A limp?

I’d have those two crying on the floor. I’d simply show them my CUC bill, then follow up with a swift health insurance premium.

Seriously though, not that your brain will give you much choice, it’s either run away, or grab something, anything, and hope the ultraviolence can come out in your favor.

I have to give the victim a little bit of fault here. If I had accidentally hit a robber fleeing from my house, I would have reversed my truck back to see if he was OK.

At one time, North Sound Estates would have been said to have been in Savannah or Newlands, but certainly not “Bodden Town”!

Im convinced at this point the police on island dont actually want to work or to solve crimes. The reports they put out are soooo vague and discouraging that its hard to not consider it comical.

When has north sound estates EVER been in Bodden Town?

just for documents and statistics. We as the people need to stand up to this behavior and eradicate this type of foolishness.

It’s literally in the district of Bodden Town. The responding officers would have been based at Bodden Town police station, with support from Firearms. From Spotts Beach to Frank Sound is technically Bodden Town, too.

I don’t think I can write what police and ambulance services would find if I came home to that scenario.

Don’t calm down buddy. That’s how we got into this state. You come home and find someone in your house, you hurt them if you can. If you cannot, then, of course, the wisest course is to flee. The victim did the right thing for his situation and skills.

From the article: “As they then attempted to flee, one of the masked men was hit by the victim’s vehicle.” Oops. Sorry it didn’t take.

Tired of all this crap. We aren’t allowed the simple tools to protect ourselves. Not even capsicum spray. Will we all — ten years hence — begin walking around with a walking stick? I don’t think it will take that long for me. So far, walking sticks are legal, and the training for a bo stick is easy to find online. Check it out.
