DG recovering from emergency appendectomy
(CNS): Deputy Governor Franz Manderson is expected to be discharged from the Cayman Islands Hospital on Saturday, officials confirmed Friday, after the civil service boss underwent an emergency appendectomy on Thursday night. Gloria McField-Nixon, the chief officer in the Portfolio of the Civil Service, will be serving as the acting deputy governor while the DG recovers from the operation.

I hope when you return to your desk, you make an effort to have your colleagues answer their phone calls and/or voice mails from the public.. This has been an endemic problem in the Civil Service for many years and shows contempt for the taxpayer who pays the salaries many don’t earn.
The Deputy Governor’s office is one of the worse offenders. There seems to be a policy in that office not to answer the phone not even other Government extensions.
