Police hear community concerns through surveys

(CNS Video): The RCIPS said they will be trying to address the concerns of the wider public based on the results they receive over the next week from surveys they are asking people to complete at their community clinic road show. Concerns that public meetings are not as well attended as they would like and not everyone feels comfortable saying their piece the police are coming out to meet the people.

With a $35 million budget the police are expecting criticisms as well as support from the public but the RCIPS hope these interactive clinics will give them a better idea of what worries people most in their neighborhoods and their expectations of them.

In the latest CNS video Kenneth Bryan talks to the police about their new outreach approach and how it will be used to improve policing.

What if everyone got paid just for trying to do their jobs, not actually doing it?

I would say that the people are showing as much interest in these Police meetings as the police show to the public – its more a case of what goes around comes around and bites you in the ass CoP. Stop complaining and start making a difference, then people might come out and support.

Amazingly, our annual police budget is about TEN times more per person than the USA spends on its defense budget.

Never in the history of national endeavour has so much been spent to achieve so very little for so few.

We cant find an “ignorant, incompetent, uneducated” Caymanian, with 20 years in the Police service, to fill the position of Chief of Police…………..therefore we are “forced” to hire a bright, competent, educated, gentleman with policing experience from the United Kingdom.
Now, after several of these have cycled through the job, with crime statistics getting worse every year that they are in charge;…….as reported by RCIPS………. the present CoP has come up with this brilliant idea to have the entire populist come to the police, in hospitals and supermarkets, to give HIM ” a better idea of what worries people most in their neighborhoods and their expectations of them.”

Sir, do you not read CNS or listen to Arden and Ezzard at all?

The CoP is blatantly ignoring North Side which gets 0 hours of interaction and for all intents and purposes ignoring East End who get a total of 4 hours.

Lord knows that I take every opportunity to praise the CoP and RCIPS, by posting every time I see a successful or positive article in CNS………Sorry I no longer read the Compass, nor comment on their articles as I am never sure Legge is just telling the straight facts on anything……… but Bainsie, come on man, get on with the job of community policing throughout all of the Cayman Islands and stop expecting the communities, furthest away from any police stations, to police themselves.
If you need to, print this, as my opinion, and stuff it in the box for me………I just cant make it out to the hospital or G.T. supermarket………in bed with a terrible flu.

Just so I can close on a positive note Bainsie, thanks for the extra traffic police seen in the Eastern Districts this weekend, especially on Fathers Day………….Now reinstate the Traffic Department.
A special thank you to the male Officers I saw manning these speed traps, who selflessly gave up Fathers Day with their children to make our streets safer! I owe you a big one. Thanks.

We already tried a Caymanian as Chief of Police. Don’t you remember? That ended in chaos and a very early retirement.

Your Police think they are attorneys whom come up with laws at will.
it causes them to FAIL time and time again.
It is sickening and I find it disturbing that I have to listen to the shadetree law they come up with.
For example in the case of a divorce, that may be a Civil issue but that will not allow either party to engage in criminal acts.
I have seen this many times now.
The police say its a civil matter and the spouse can take what they wish from the other spouse at any time.
The police just wont get involved they say its a civil matter and they wont stop the behavior that is happening.
I have seen the wife break into the husbands home on a daily basis take what she wishes and the police let her. They even allow her to bust the locks off. As I write this I am sure this Bitch is doing this TODAY The police have told the husband to stop calling or he will be arrested.
This causes the victim to be quite jaded and often subjected to continued victimization
The end result is that the jaded spouse is forced to take matters into their own hands.
Perhaps the non responding shade tree lawyer/ officer should be held responsible for their actions
