Police deal with two suicides over holiday weekend

(CNS): A local man who worked in tourism was found hanging from a tree in Windsor Park Saturday morning, and a well-known business owner who is also believed to have taken his own life was found dead at his home on Palm Heights Drive on Saturday evening, as the RCIPS dealt with two suspected holiday suicides. Police said Thursday that the man in Windsor Park had been identified as Adam Mark Ebanks (34) and Christian Sorenson (53), the owner of Crystal Caves, was identified as the man found in Palm Heights.

Police said post mortems will be scheduled in both cases, and as inquiries continue they are asking anyone who may have information to call them at 949-4222 or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477(TIPS).

In light of these tragic incidents during the holidays, the RCIPS urged members of the community who may be experiencing emotional or psychological difficulties to seek assistance. “A number of resources exist on island to help people in a variety of circumstances receive the help they need to manage difficult periods of their lives,” the police noted.

Cayman Marl Road and it’s principals and the FB page mentioned are of the worst kind. They seem to enjoy destroying and digging up dirt and defamation of others. Should not be allowed to operate and wish everyone would block them if they continue. Karma will eventualy get you. Thanks you CNS for your professiolism.

Agreed! KT and her minions behind cayman fb news page actually had the nerve to tell the wife of the deceased, and I quote “Now get off our ass”, when she was upset about the picture of dead husband posted. Who says that?! Not a professional news page. Just a bunch of cows they are. Karma will come around.

You missed at least one counseling service sponsored by the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands:

Bethesda Counselling Centre at 946-6575 (or 924-4676) or by e-mail at bethesda@candw.ky.

I would say a church has a hidden agenda, so it can not be regarded as a counseling institute.

        Mr. Atheist Stalin,

Cayman is a democracy. If a person wants to go to the church of his choice for counseling, that’s his business! What’s the big fuss in listing it as an option ???

Sadly, some church groups use the weakness of the vulnerable as the basis to convert new recruits.

Cayman is not a democracy. It is an overseas territory of a constitutional monarchy. Check your facts.

How tragic for them both and their families. What’s worse is Cayman Facebook News Page had the nerve to post a pic of Mark dead in the tree and Cayman Marl Road dug up dirt about Christians finance trouble a mere hours after he was found. Thank you CNS for remaining professional and respectful and for posting services for people needing help. It’s pathetic how the others continously spread rumors and disgusting details, and justify their pathetic actions by calling it “news”. It’s one thing to report the news, it’s another to be a bunch of busybodys competing for a better story by exploiting hurtful and personal information and pictures of the deceased. It’s no secret the 2 so called “news” pages hate each other. Both are equally pathetic and embarrassing to their community. Let’s hope their family and close friends find peace.

They won’t be but what those ridiculous women don’t realise is that they are making complete fools of themselves. Zero class. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence can see that.

Trouble is there are many on this so called Christian island that love to share pictures like this. The kind that rubberneck and even stop to see who was killed in a road crash. These lowlifes are without respect and compassion.

Condolences to the families, it is a sad time for those who are left behind. I hope those who reported on the incidences reads these comments as they are despicable and should be voted off the island for this is not the first nor will it be the last time that they report in bad taste. News can be reported but with respect to the dead and the family. I am shocked to see the awful manner in which they treat others. How are they allowed to be reporters, close them down.

It is very sad. Its time we really wake up to where we are. Its hard to keep reading the news about rapes, children being defiled and in the space of one day two suicides. Far too much domestic violence and drugs being taken like candy. We weren’t like this and now it seems that there’s just one agonizing story after the next. Anyway here’s to a better 2018…and yes I plan to pray about it and to be a part of that change. This is my home and I have kids here so I don’t intend to just give up. Love and peace to all.
