(CNS): Public Health officials said on Tuesday that “a vaccinated patient with severe comorbidities has passed away from COVID-19, bringing the death toll as a result of the virus to 27”. This patient was only the second vaccinated person in Cayman to die while positive for SARS-CoV-2. Another two COVID-positive patients remain in the hospital, one of whom is vaccinated.

Over the last two days, another 97 people have tested positive, including six on the Sister Islands. The number of estimated active cases has risen to 636 and the daily rolling average for Tuesday was 44.

Looks like covid comments are down about 75%. That has to mean something is going right.

I guess it’s safe to say no one watched the Miami open? 15 top rated athletes can’t finish the tournament because of health problems. If you can’t see the writing in the wall yet you may not be able to read

UNMASK THE KIDS, WAYNE!!!!! We’ve been unmasked at my 100+ person office for a month and no more COVID than when we were forced to wear masks. This is child abuse at this point. Zero risk to kids. ZERO!!!

said it before… no-one who is relatively healthy, under 70, who is vaxxed, will die from covid.
    get vaxxed/boosted.

Your lie is a lie and remains a lie despite your mundane repetitious droll.

Well contradict him with some facts. Oh, wait – there’s a real lack of any such cases in Cayman, right, and as a percentage of population, very few elsewhere. Just because you don’t like the idea doesn’t mean ts not true.

    • Anonymous says:

Copy and paste bullshit once again. Well done!

    • Anonymous says:

How about stop saying it since it’s not true, as much as you wish it would be.

If you insist, because you like annoying everyone who reads these comments, then change it to “very few people who are”

        i ain’t changing nothing.
in cayman, no-one who is relatively healthy, under 70, who is vaxxed, will die from covid.

Sad to hear, but you can only do so much and the best thing you can do is keep up on your vaccines.

  6. Kermit says:

2? A whole 2 deaths? There have been 7 deaths in 2022 in car accidents. Get some perspective and stop this isolation and social distancing nonsense for something now less dangerous than the common flu.

Although he was old and suffered from numerous health issues, he was alive until the Kirkconnell Community Care Centre staff gave him Covid. You would think after stopping visitation, they would’ve been more careful with the residents. A case of negligence.

    • Anonymous says:

That’s what they won’t talk about. How are our elderly getting Covid? If it was my family member, I would sue government. They have a duty of care.

  8. Anonymous says:

The vaccine is relatively new. It would be good to know if additional test were done to rule out that the vaccine had caused the patient to further have their system compromise before getting the covid.

    • Anonymous says:

Are you mad? The vaccine reduces chance of death, not increase it! Look at the statistics

      • Anonymous says:

What statistics? All cause mortality? When you remove covid deaths it’s still through the roof everywhere vaccines have been widely used. But it’s TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE that it could be the sparkling clean vaccine from sparkling clean big pharm has anything to do with it.

The vaccine has been in use now for over a year, given to millions of people and scrutinized by the CDC, FDA, the EC and UK health regulators. But sure, let’s get our medical research experts (!) in Cayman working on the case cause you would rather believe the vaccine harmed him or made it worse.

scary amount of likes to this nonsense….but not surprising when you see education standards on this island and the tiny amount of locals who have reputable 3rd level education.

  9. Anon says:

When will they post a schedule for kids to get vaccinated? Rumor has it they have run out of children’s doses.

  10. Anonymous says:

Severe comorbidities!! Age please? I am aware of at least two elderly (Both over 85) unvaccinated persons with severe comorbidities (& bedridden for years) that contracted covid and sadly died, yet no mention of severe comorbidities; only mention was passed due to covid.. Those two words must be used whether you are or are not vaccinated if such is the case. Nevertheless, get vaccinated but be transparent with reporting covid related deaths, please.

  11. Ernie says:

Meanwhile in the UK, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the UK tops 20,000, the highest since February 2021.

Dont buy the “its mild” nonsense from Covid deniers and/or business community members.

Letting our guards down is cruel.

    • Kermit says:

The UK data shows normal flu is more dangerous than Covid now:

      https://www.ft.com/content/e26c93a0-90e7-4dec-a796-3e25e94bc59b

There were around 5 million cases last week in the UK according to ONS and ZOE data and only 300 or so on ventilators in the whole country. As background cases go up the number of people found to have Covid when tested upon admission for other reasons goes up and up and way beyond the normal background 30-35% figure, so hospital admissions is not as significant a metric as ICU admissions. “Letting our guards down” is rational, stopping life to appease the neurotic is cruel.

      • Gene says:

Grrat news unless you or one of your loved ones happen to be in the 300.

But, those 300 are disposable for the profits and freedoms, right?

        • Pippe says:

Tens of thousands die as a result breathing in car pollution. Should we stop all road transport until the number is below 100? The covid death rate is now below that of a normal flu season if one is vaccinated. Proportionality is what you are lacking, it must be a side effect of your hysteria and melodrama.

          • Anonymous says:

I noticed the poster rather skated over the issue of how any of those 300 had are the decision not to take the vaccine as well.

  12. Anonymous says:

How many more fully vaccinated but vulnerable will be hospitalized or will die before the experiment is ended and the second booster is made available?

  13. Anonymous says:

Canada & US have already started authorizing a 4th shot (second booster) for the elderly and immune compromised… so safe to say “soon come”?

  14. Anonymous says:

Here we go again, from bad to worse again
