(CNS): The police said that last weekend, they received several reports of a group of between two and ten boys, believed to be between twelve and 15 years old, approaching members of the public and firing shots at them with what appears to be a pellet gun or gel blaster. While no one has been injured in these incidents, they have caused fear and alarm to members of the community, police said.

The RCIPS is advising the boys who have engaged in this activity to desist at once. Parents, especially parents of juveniles in possession of this type of toy, are advised to speak to their children about the negative consequences that such activities can have.

The police are investigating the incidents, which occurred on the evenings of Friday and Saturday, 2 and 3 August, between 8:00pm and about 10:00pm, in George Town in the vicinity of Newport Avenue, Keturah Street, Hope Drive and Paxton Street.

Anyone who has witnessed such an incident or who may have any other information is asked to contact 949-4222

I recommend bringing back Airsoft and paintball guns, but kinda similar to UK but a bit different, have a license for Airsoft, Paintball, gel blasters. Individuals who want one must be: of appropriate age (say maybe 16 or 17), responsible, go through police and medical checks, each gun must be tagged and registered in a database with owners information similar to an actual firearms license but maybe not as strict as real firearms, afterall these are at the end of the day ‘toys’ they will not do grievous bodily harm or kill a person.

This will maybe make parents think twice about buying these for their kids and they would also have to pay for the licenses and go through all the checks needed to obtain them.

These boys need a good smack! Look they are ruining it for those law abiding citizens. The law abiding citizens who have have the ‘fun’ with them at home or on private land, away from the open public, and not harassing/threatening the public and shooting them with it. These boys need to desist now or have them eventually made illegal and they can’t have them and nobody can have them. Those silly boys will be unhappy about it and those law abiding citizens who have them will be mad at them for it, if its made illegal.

I can remember when paintball and airsoft guns were legal and they were great was great, until again stupid kids doing stupid things like this. Then it gone to stupid kids doing really idiotic things like using them to hold up and rob people and other illegal things with them. After that Paintball and Airsoft toy guns got banned for the most part.

To Parents who are buying these for their kids. If you know your child is out in public doing stupid stuff and getting into trouble don’t buy them these toys. If you have bought them this and you see that they are getting into these kinds of things take them away from them. Sell or give them away to responsible parties, or better yet, hand them in to police during the gun amnesty.

I recall when paintball guns were legal and we had organised paint ball games. It was a lot of fun. Some unruly kids started doing the same thing, and the next we knew was paintball guns were classed as firearms. Much easier to ban the whole thing than deal with a few stupidly raised kids.

I bet they will learn if they try that on the wrong person and get a bullet in return.

Find them, tie them up, tar and feather them, and give them a dose of what they’ve been doing to others!

Police need to deal with children riding around neighborhoods stealing things from people yards especially in the Prospect Area sick of seeing them checking park cars obviously grownups are behind them realising they are not going to be sent to prison as juveniles that’s what the minister should be doing in her constituency

This gel blasters look like the real thing and so need to be classed as imitation firearms. Give these miscreants a sentence of community service, at least 200 hours. I doubt they do it again if the punishment is appropriate.
