(CNS): There were another 161 positive cases of COVID-19 in the community on Monday from the 716 PCR tests over the previous day, according to the results released by Public Health on Tuesday evening. Chief Medical Officer Dr John Lee said they were no travellers among those testing positive.

Although the number of active cases fell below 4,000 for the first time for several weeks, twelve weeks into this community outbreak the daily case number were still very high. Hospitalisations of patients, however, remains stable, with 20 people currently admitted with symptoms of COVID-19. As of 8am Tuesday, there were 3,985 people in isolation.

There were 15 active cases in the Sister Islands, with one identified in the previous 24 hours. To date, there have been 120 total cases recorded in the Sister Islands, with 105 having recovered. Out of the total number of cases in the Sister Islands, 62 were fully vaccinated, six were partially vaccinated and 52 were unvaccinated.

Over 58,000 people (82% of the population) have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Just over 56,000 have had the two-dose course and 10,748 people (15% of the population) have received a third or booster dose.

  1. Meh says:

The total deaths from covid among the vaccinated in this wave resolutely remains at zero.

Israel today, triple jabbed/boosted doctor infects another triple jabber with omicron.
    https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/two-israeli-doctors-infected-with-omicron-hospital-says-2021-11-30/

All over this site people still think vaccination is the way out of this – it’s not. You have to somehow accept this. There will always be a new variant (there have been over 100,000 of them btw), and for whatever reason the world will panic again (despite South Africa themselves announcing in dismay that omicron is nothing more than a head cold and nobody’s in severe trouble with it).

Please, just try to for a moment think that we may not be doing this the best way – if you’ve taken the vaccine, you trust it, stop worrying about if anyone else has.

The vaccinated and the unvaccinated spread it just the same (they do, there’s a hundred articles showing they do to counteract the hundred articles that say they don’t)…but even Fauci says they do. Sure, the vax’d may spread it for shorter timeframes but that’s wide open to debate, environment, etc, etc also.

FOr those convinced its only unvaccinated going to end up dead or really ill, just stop your nonsense and take a look at who is in the UK and Ireland hospitals. The Israeli hospitals. Etc. Etc. The vaccines don’t stop you getting ill. What stops you getting ill? Vitamin D, exercise, living stress free (turn off CNN, they’re insane at this point).

There’s no emergency. Never was. The numbers are not there. Please wake up.

Natural immunity is always going to be the best way out of this..you need to let it happen. If you’re scared, you got vaccinated, so what do you have to worry about? The unvaccinated are not worried, you should take your lead from them.

A 69 year old woman from Savannah died of covid this morning. She had no other known illnesses but sadly she was unvaccinated.

      • Anonymous says:

Sad as is every death, but I just cannot understand why anyone is unvaccinated now in cayman, with people desperate for vaccines all over the world. Why would you voluntarily risk death like this woman by not getting jabbed? And even if you survive natural immunity nowhere near as good as a Pfizer vaccine.

I just can’t understand it.,, personally I will be requesting a Pfizer jab every 6 months for at least a few years until, Covid spread dies down a bit.

      • Anonymous says:

She might not have had enough vitamin D. She might have got sick and died even if she had the vaccine.

Sure lets all take medical advice from some random troll on the internet who contradicts themself and obviously doesn’t know what they are talking about. Are you an epidemiologist, virologist? If not how about you just hush.

Take your own advice and worry about yourself instead of trying to tell people that natural immunity is the best solution when it clearly isn’t. If you can type all that foolishness you can go read what the trusted authorities are saying instead of misinforming people as a sick hobby.

    • Anonymous says:

You’re right actually. Natural immunity, see Doc Peter McCullough (I think correct spelling)..and so many others
Ignore the know it all’s who think the vaccines are the answer…they’re learning fast the opposite is true

      • Anonymous says:

Yeah that conclusion is absolutely supported by the facts lol. All those unvaccinated people in hospital or the graveyard can have the reassurance that the survivors will have natural immunity. Apart from the facts which show that you can catch Covid more than once, and the resistance to second infection is lower than in a vaccinated person. But apart from that, absolutely on the money. It has a Darwinian simplicity to it.

    • Anonymous says:

Idiot. It’s well known that the Pfizer vaccine gives far better antibodies than natural immunity, plus Covid may kill you if your not vaccinated, get your booster and shut up

Great news coming out today that with the booster your three shots protects you against omicron

  6. Anonymous says:

Anyone notice how the percentages of vaccinated individuals by age group seem to mysteriously top out at >99% – never 100% or even above 100%, but the numbers of unvaccinated positives by age group keep increasing? Could it just be that the recorded cases by age group – based on real data – are demonstrating that the population size and age group distribution used by government – which are guesstimates – is simply completely wrong?

  7. Anonymous says:

And remember these are only ‘reported’ cases.

    Pandemic of the unvaccinated.

  9. Anonymous says:

I wonder who they gonna blame after all +/-3000 unvaxxed have already been named as all the cases…..

    • Logic 101 says:

How anyone can still think this is a thing is bizarre. It is the unvaccinated that are much more likely to end up hospitalized, not as “cases”. This has already been confirmed here with the hospitalizations and is what all press releases and news stories say. There are unfortunately still many, many cases of unaddressed stupidity it seems.

    • Anonymous says:

based on their numbers, the 3000 should have been reached by now. They either lie with one thing, or with another thing, or with everything (more than likely).

    • Anonymous says:

Then it will be the third boosters against the second boosters

Can we please get an update from government:
    – how many Travellers have tested positive on Day 2, 5, and 10?
    – what is the % of total travellers that tested positive since the elimination of quarantine?
    – how many community positives occurred during the same time period?
It is time to get rid of this UnCaymanKind practice, and start focusing on the real problems… like those at Travel Cayman who have not yet processed Travel Certificates for those inbound travellers on the Air Canada flight on Saturday that were vaccinated in Ontario Canada.
The unnecessary stress, and testing requirements, while the government can’t even produce Travel Certificates or communicate with travellers is unacceptable. We are ruining our reputation as a travel destination for NO gain.

    • Anonymous says:

the real problem – locals who will not vaccinate irrespective of the data – like Jon Jon who couldn’t be bothered/wouldn’t even wear a mask for his photo op with the PACT team. Its individuals like him that are responsible for our infection rates, pure and simple.

    • Logic 101 says:

Why is one Air Canada flight special? It has been the case for a year now that you get your travel approval literally on the day of your flight. Why do Travel Cayman need to prioritise one flight from Canada over the hundreds, maybe even thousands, of other people who will be landing between today and Friday?

    • Anonymous says:

Draaaama…tell your guests to certify their vaccinations, like the more attuned Canadian international outbound travellers that are experiencing zero delays with nearly-instant Travel Cayman Certificates.

Some of the responsibility for being a sentient international traveler during a global health pandemic, is going to be on that traveler, not the receiving destination. They need to put their grown-up pants on and go the appropriate provincial portal, such as:

      https://covid-19.ontario.ca/proof-covid-19-vaccination#enhanced-vaccine-certificates-with-qr-codes

      • Anon says:

Actually if you weren’t aware… flights from Toronto, which are mostly vaccinated in Toronto or Ontario, are NOT securely verifiable.
So yes, there is an ENTIRE flight of people that cannot get there vaccine verified for Cayman’s single-minded system; and instead of timely processing of submissions, they are saying to wait until 2 days before the flight! See the Compass article on JetBlue where prospective visitors (people spending money on Cayman) are unable to get here because Travel Cayman is sending out approvals AFTER their flight departs.

        • Anonymous says:

          Wrong.

        • Neverwannabeatravelcaymanian. says:

12.15pm My approval to return on BA253 last Saturday was sent 8 hours after my flight departed. Fortunately BA are aware of the deficiencies in the Travail Cayman administration and apply some intelligence to their departure requirements.

    • Anonymous says:

Got my travel declaration certificate yesterday. Took about 45 minutes online. You can only do this with verifiable test results however.

PACT has abandoned even the illusion of caring about the impact that COVID-19 is having and can have on the people of the Cayman Islands. To their credit I will say that they have been clear that they are putting the interests of the tourism sector and big business first.

    • Anonymous says:

Yes, proudly committed to special interest. Do any of them remember what PACT acronym was supposed to stand for? Dwayne Seymour?!?

    • Anon says:

Except that’s rubbish because the majority of potential tourists have been deterred by the vaccination (esp of children) and testing requirements!

hospital cases steady or slightly declining…
nothing else to worry about. very likely cayman reaching some type of herd immunity.
