(CNS): The Strand Plaza entertainment complex off the West Bay Road was the location of yet another violent incident this weekend, which resulted in a young man being taken to hospital with serious stab wounds. Police said they responded to a report at around 12.30am on Sunday, 12 September, and found a 25-year-old man from South Sound with multiple stab wounds.

He was taken to the George Town hospital, where he remains in a stable condition and under observation. Police are now investigating the case but have not yet said what they believe happened or issued any details of suspects, despite the significant CCTV coverage in the area. No arrests have been made yet.

Such a sinister act. The public is well aware of who the persons are who committed this crime and the reason. Why is it that no arrests have been made for suspicion while the investigation continues?

Let us stop protecting these persons who have no regard for the life of another, the RCIPS should not have to call for any witnesses. We need to unite and do the right thing.

1.Strict dress code, none of the lookin like a fool with yo pants on the ground crew,
    2. none of that gangsta rap rubbish and music with vile lyrics, that attracts all the wannabe tough guys and the idiotic women that follow
    3. $20 entrance fee. Nobody allowed in after 10pm

Enjoy yourself and have a great night.

If these clowns were rounded up and dropped off in Wynwood or Model City for a week, they’d be crying for their mommas within 10 minutes.

Happy days back in the ‘90’s Silvers in T.I.’s $25 all ya could drink and not a peep out of anyone. Never again to be seen. Caymanians and ExPats all having fun with each other and no violence. What a time it was.
Could we even have contemplated what it is like now.

I miss those good old days at Silvers. You’re so right too…everybody went to just have fun and not looking for trouble. Crowd was mixed of all walks of life.

Wasteman land is what the strand has turned into. Set a proper dress code and these bums will have to stay at their neighborhood bars

Time to enforce the closure of Lillies at the Strand and move it to the hood where they all shoot and stab each other. No place for this consistent crime on SMB. Do it on your own doorstep, not where respectable people live and work.

Focus on the people with weapons (especially guns), because the RCIPS going after the young adults smoking a spliff is no longer what should take priority.

Once again. Landlords light up your parking areas properly. Tenants demand that this be done. Otherwise neither side will have income.
LED lights are now quite reasonably priced and use very little electricity. Make your properties/businesses safe.

Crimes of passion will not be deterred by lights.

Do what you can, right mate? Do what you can to reduce the incident of violent exchange. That’s all there is. It’s not complicated.

Caring Landlord, Lights, Cops, and Liquor Inspectors wouldn’t hurt – all are absent without consequence.

Close the dumpy night club upstairs and it’ll all be over. Too bad the little gangster wanna bees will just end up somewhere else

Lillie’s was once a good club to go to but ever since these nuisance waste men and waste girls started coming there it went down hill and it been nothing but trouble ever since!! You all really need to do better with your life’s and stop being a bunch of hoodlum bums just hanging outside and loitering like a bunch of waste thugs looking trouble look for a job instead!

The Strand used to be awesome when Whisky Mist was on the go. Then they managed to screw it up by employing a XXXX new manager and opening a free club which drew in all the wannabe gangsters who’d stand around their cars drinking before going in and causing trouble. Real shame.

Dear God! Why don’t they just park a RCIPs patrol car outside Lillie’s, Vics and Bananas between 11pm and chucking out time?

    • Anonymous says:

that envolves work and RCIPS dont do that.

Seriously though – the amount of stabbings, shootings and general ruckus that a few bars on the island is absurd and deserves some attention… it happens every week it seems.

It’s remarkable that the Governor, the guy in charge of all policing in the Cayman Islands, is openly positing that inbound COVID community transmission is possibly sourced from illegal transshipment of drugs/weapons and people – without seeming to want to present any updated credible interdiction countermeasures to that traffic. One is left to conclude that must be because that activity is important commercially and an unsung pillar of the Cayman Islands dark economy. Maybe this is why our VIP champagne rooms attract rival gangster capos on weekends, and maybe reason again why there aren’t Police present to discourage membership cancelations. We aren’t in Kansas folks. Parents need to keep their underage teens away from these holes.

    • Beaumont Zodecloun says:

I would guess the reason to be that it would involve about a dozen RCIPS cars to make a significant impact, particularly since they aren’t armed and don’t wish to die.

They did for a few weeks after the christmas stabbing. From pm – visible. Seeme to give up after a few weeks. Was a good deterrent.

    • Anonymous says:

There is a police car there on Friday night when Lillie’s is open.

    • Anonymous says:

wait, you expect them to do their job?
