‘Exorcist’ head teacher under investigation
(CNS): Vickie Frederick, the principal of Red Bay Primary School, has been placed under investigation for alleged misconduct that threatened the safety of children under her care. While the Department of Education Services (DES) has said little about the case, parents of children at the school have posted on social media that Frederick was involved in some kind of exorcism ritual at the school on several young students.
A release from the Ministry of Education said the matter had been referred to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) following “reports of alleged misconduct towards students” and that the member of staff has been “relocated from schools until the investigation is completed”.
CNS is awaiting a response from officials about why the principal has not been suspended and what other work she is permitted to do if she is not working in any of the schools.
Officials have failed to describe the details of the allegations against Frederick, who has been head of the school for around 15 years. But social media posts by parents suggest that she had pulled about two dozen children from class and engaged in some kind of religious session in which she had told the students they were possessed by demons and must repent.
It is understood that some of the children were forced to drink something and were manhandled during the alleged exorcism. There are also suggestions this had something to do with questions about the sexuality of the 9,10 and 11-year-old children that were involved.
Frederick is a religious minister as well as being the principal of the primary school, which was last inspected and found to have made good progress in 2018.
According to posts made by parents, many of the children involved were frightened by the experience. The chief officer for the education ministry, Cetonya Cacho, said, “The safety and wellness of our students are our priorities. Immediate actions have been taken to address these allegations.”
Acting Director of DES Tammy Banks-DaCosta said that the department is committed to supporting the students and staff of the Red Bay Primary School to ensure that the teaching and learning activities continue with as little disruption as possible. “The academic and emotional well-being of our students is paramount; we will ensure that the school is poised to continue to function effectively and efficiently,” she added.

“Warnborough University
This provider does not award recognised UK degrees.”
https://hedd.ac.uk/viewInstitution?id=565
So much for due diligence being done at the HR Level of the Civil Service.
Get this lady help. I do not care whether you fire her or retire her. Just get her help.
It is obvious she is burnt out to the T.
The government needs to stop public servants use of Paper Mill so called degrees being officially addressed as Doctor. Just googled Warnborough University. Not surprised it is a diploma mill as research showed. The insult is that some nefarious civil servants have gained positions of power over others who have “real degrees” from accredited Universities.
It”s a glaring injustice in the case of the arrested Director/ accused of money laundering
How many more are out there reaping the benefits of a wicked fraud?
Is there a ritual to get people with fake degrees from diploma mills to stop calling themselves “doctor”?
The music man from North Side called himself Dr for years after he returned from Canada in the early 70s with a mysterious doctorate gained without having done any academic studies in a university. To the day he died he was called Dr M****o yet he could barely play the piano competently. But no one dared challenge it because he was one of us and we don’t do that. Total fraud.
Gov’t should have done their due diligence on ‘Dr. Watler’s Degrees. Check out the website below. Just saying . . .

If we going to take actions against Mrs Frederick we need to make a clean sweep all these sham apocalyptic chuchs need to be close down too and their duty waiver scams and impose strict NPO regulations on their church business dealings.
Ha! “Sham apocalyptic churches”????
Oh right, as opposed to the real and legit churches. They are ALL scams. They make money by selling people an imaginary solution to a made up problem.
God will torture you forever (after you die, trust me). But don’t worry, give me ten percent of your income and God will save you! (after you die, trust me)
Sorry, no refunds if it doesn’t work out as promised. But hey, nobody has come back from the dead to complain so it must be legit, right?
Government should give her a consulting contract.
I must truly be the fool for wanting to wait and find out the details of the event before I judge.
Her actions certainly sound inappropriate and nefarious to me, however I won’t be participating in a judgement by peer consensus without detailed information. I’m certain I would be incensed if I had a child in this school.
That or you didn’t pick up your child who was absolutely terrified having been raised in a non-religious household. Newsflash, born and raised Caymanians can be Atheist constitutionally.
These ‘rituals’ were done without MY consent on MY child and I AM LIVID
Two consenting adults want to marry and the Christians protest that a lifestyle is being shoved down their throats..
Ironic, isn’t it? Religious rituals being performed on children without parental OR the child’s consent and somehow the Christians aren’t the one forcing a lifestyle here?
Maybe this man in Singapore was influenced by the same religious fanatics that we have here.
(Quite another funny story but of course still not as bad as the one relating to Cayman.) 😂😊😊
‘Man chopped down papaya tree thinking it was ‘possessed by spirts[sic]’

@9:15 – Again, not all children in government schools are coming from religious background. So it makes sense the irreligious parents for those children would be upset because according to the story, they weren’t consulted. That’s all I’m saying. But then again, I am hearing that certain children come to her for counseling and prayer. The allegations of dragging kids out of the classroom to do exorcism on them is CMR’s publishing “allegations” from one source. 🙄 … so, if that is the case, I think the press has to be very careful with just forwarding “allegations” out for the public consumption. I understand Vicky is hated, and most Principles I’ve known in my lifetime have never been liked by majority. I spoke with a lady yesterday about the “allegations” published on CMR, and right away, she told me it was true, very true indeed. “Do you have evidence that it is true?” She replied, “I know Sandra, and most everything CMR publish is true! There maybe some hiccups but pretty much alot of it is true!” Oooo I see. .. And she went off topic on how awful the Principle was to other people’s children. How she treated them! I could see in her eyes she hated her. Hopefully, the MASH investigators will clear up much of fact from fiction.
A letter was sent to all parents advising of the investigation. Patents of some of the children involved have been vocal about it and expressing accounts of their children to family and friends.
There are a few teachers there that have been very vocal and activists against gay marriage and gay rights, aligning to the motive of the exorcism. This inhave witnessed first hand.
I’m a parent and my child attends this school, and there is def waaay too much religion in the school. The teachers are more than comfortable extending their religious beliefs. While I occassionally attend church, not all christianity is the same. One church believes in demons, another may not. There should be separation of church and state.
I await the results of the investigation, however the pretense of this incident is damaging.
Remember when you go to a job interview they always ask, what is your religon…then lets say I’m a seventh-day adventist and I make it known, that still wont stop my employer from asking me to work on a Saturday and threaten to give my position to someone else who is willing, will it? People dont really care until it effects them directly.
On the flip side the Entire Caymanian constitution was built on religon and is strictly upheld to this day.
For example, there are no legal strip clubs despite our economy being suitable enough to maintain it and the business owners willing to meet any requirement necessary in order to run such business, which lets all face it, is happening any way…gambling casinos, public affection (specifically same sex), even down to a tourist walking into a shop or store with nothing but a g-string bathing suit and nobody even grunts but if a local does it then all of a sudden the roof is about cave in if they dont leave…im not even gonna go further with this but the thing is, how are you going to change all of that when everyone agreed on the Ole fashion society. Cayman is like the Amish community of the Caribbean so to speak and for that alot of people prefer it here cuz it harbors a sense of false security in believing that everything that goes on in the rest of the world doesnt happen here as well. Smh.
If you want to change one thing that is effected by religion in this country then you have to go after all, But If your going to kick the nest be ready for everything that comes out of it.
Even if the parents of the children are religious, I sincerely doubt they would condone this behaviour. The woman in question clearly needs help that it beyond spiritual and should be sectioned as such
lol [chuckle lying in my bed]… And believe it or not, I won’t be surprised, the same devil uses events like this one to attack faith in the Creator. And then, mark my words – This year, you will hear more and more calls for no more prayers in school, for the implementation of an lgbtq diversity curriculum, more attacks on MP Julianna and all other conservative think-tanks in our society. 🙂 This is how this whole devil’s show-bang plays out, folks. It is sad, but the Creator is still in control and knows what’s best.☝🏽
Are the kids there to pray or to get an education? Don’t know about the LGBT thing because if the kids can’t read, write or do Math then nothing else should be added to the curriculum. Besides we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
Vickie and her minions need to. DP, SENCO, pretty much anyone who acts like her. Bye! I’d be happy to return to RB if they all go!
True words!
Some sects would and prefer a dumbed down populi.
“Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.” —Seneca
Seems like that may get them further in getting an education on this island by any conventional means
If your ‘creator’ (who cannot be proven, evidenced or seen in any way whatsoever) is real, then you also claim this ‘creator’ doesn’t make mistakes so LGBTQ+ are all your ‘creator’s’ creations.
Oh no, my bad….. anything that doesn’t quite fit into the story yuou all have to tell yourselves, can quite conveniently be attributed to the work of the ‘devil’. What a load of absolute baloney!
Our creator gives us all freedom of choice.
A rather stupid argument. Aside from this story and aside from CNS applying the label ‘exorcist’ you need to look up the word faith. Faith is belief in something without evidence and we all have it, whether it be waking up in the morning and having faith in your car starting, faith you will arrive at your destination safely etc. These too cannot be evidenced or proven as you suggest. You use the word creator and the universe was created how? A big bang with sub-atomic particles? Then that is your God. You choose not to believe and that is to be respected, so be honourable and respect those that do, without judging all Christians on the actions of of one.
So many hypocrites running off at the mouth. Let me get this straight, you believe in God, you believe the Bible is all true, and you call yourself a Christian, but the second somebody calls your bluff and behaves in a manner consistent with the weird stuff in the Bible you freak out. You can’t have it both ways. If the crazy stuff in the Bible is true then this principle acted accordingly. She’s only crazy and out of line if the Bible is a book full of myths. So, which is it?
3:10 The Bible does not have crazy stuff. No where does it say or condone a teacher going after her students, calling them demonic. I am a Christian and I see this as vitally wrong and believe the proper actions need to be taken to remove her immediately.
And do you have proof that she called the children demonic? Transcript please
because it’s the actual words used here that are the problem
The bible does not have crazy stuff?
How much more crazy can you have?
The first chapter is outright crazy to start with.
The Bible is jam packed with crazy stuff. You just don’t know that because you haven’t actually read all of it it with open eyes. The Bible contains things like talking animals, God commanding people to eat their poop Baked in bread, descriptions of men with genitalia the size of a horse’s, etc. It’s all there. Just read it, if you dare.
Hear hear
Plenty of examples of casting out devils in the Bible. And Jesus specifically empowers his disciples to be able to do so.
Right!
She should have cast the demons into pigs, and then have the pigs drown themselves, like Jesus did.
Nothing crazy about that.
You really should shut up. It’s better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
What she did goes against her “Job” and the safety of the children both physically and mentally.
If every Christian minded person did this at theit “job” there would be sheer chaos.
Please grow a brain when trying to attack religion.
Religion is not the problem. 99.9999% of the time its the people pushing it.
Want some proof? Who is she to pass judgement on the children? Bible says he who is without sin let him cast the first stone. Also, thou shalt not judge yet yee be judged. Who granted her the right to pass judgement?
Anyhow. Leave religion alone and go chase a car or something.
Oh really? You were there to see she passed judgement on the children? Curious to know, just what did she said? Could you tell us, please? 😉
More than a “few” children reported the same version of the incident.
Where you got that from? The parents? Is it true?
Pick up in the school yard… you could hear the chatter yourself.
Religion has been and is the cause of many wars!
True but its because of interpretations of scriptures. And of course using it to fit a specific narrative.
Oh please, stop trying to justify your ridiculous antiquated beliefs.
8:14 why is always you lot without faith attacking those who do? Keep scrolling instead of spewing your hate. Their faith has no effect on you, what is important is that we are all on the same page in thinking that what occurred is wrong!
I don’t believe in God. I don’t want it both ways. I want a secular education for children here, as it is what they deserve. Give them the education, then allow them to be religious if they so choose, not the other way around.
Also, it’s principal. That is all.
Go to a secular country then 🤷🏽♂️ CAYMAN’S CONSTITUTION IS CHRISTIAN. We can’t stop praying and casting out evil spirits because you don’t like it. There are many secular nations. Go to France, enough atheism there.
Lol
Reread the constitution, BoBo. Non-Christian Caymanians have all the rights Christian Caymanians do.
Apparently few agree with you… Yes, Constitutions were written – – – BEFORE morals and ethics came into the current being. If you believe in a strict interpretation of constitutions most of us would be slaves and women would be property. (But then, maybe you would welcome that!).
I agree send the atheist away
Pathetic defence. Let’s just get rid of all the people who don’t believe in christianity, that will solve the problem of them cdhallenging us and trying to get us to prove the ridiculous!
Lol at the ones who when thinking, “what would jesus do?”, their first thought is to send the non believer to somewhere else.
As for France, secular maybe, but there’s a huge number of catholic and muslim believers.
Again, cheers for the LOLZ.
What she is alleged to have done isn’t remotely consistent with the Bible.
Wrong. The Bible says gays should be executed. If she was concerned about the sexuality of these preteen children, as has been alleged, then let’s be grateful she didn’t go for 100% Biblical on them.
oh no no no. She was temporarily taken off path by the devil, that’s how thi sbehaviour can be justified. But all she has to do is repent and say sorry to the imaginary being in the sky and she’s got a clean slate
I am not wishing bad on anyone, but Vickie had it coming. She along with her core SMT should be removed immediately. The teachers should be placed at different as well, dismantle the cult!
Vickie claims RBPS is a private school funded by the government. I was quite shocked when I realized that staff had to form a prayer circle in staff meetings. She would also invite staff to be a part of the “prayer ground,” plus the trips to Honduras. Vickie needs serious help.
To the Pastors who acknowledge and endorse her, you are all just as bad. Yes, she has nice ways. For example, “standing up” for her staff or whatever else, her other actions are borderline cult leader.
Overall, she has a wild imagination as the naive staff members and the wider public believes Vickie has the power to fire employees who do not participate in her antics! I don’t care if she has a crystal ball, she has no power and needs to leave education alone. People may hear people with stories about Vickie and try to say they are losing it, but the things that happen at RBPS are above and beyond crazy. As a matter of fact quite a few schools need investigation.
Lastly, the Doctorate she has is not real. Where have you heard of anyone acquiring a Doctorate in less than 6 months? Let’s see if the Child Protection Policy works or is it only against classroom teachers and parents?
I know you may be wondering why all of this wasn’t reported just know it was! Over and over, but it’s all common knowledge and swept under the carpet like everything else in Cayman!
Fact: Child protect policy only works against classroom teachers…..more specifically classroom teachers from caribbean countries. Stories of kids breaking an arm or a leg because they are pushed/forced by PE teachers, kids being slapped to the ground by music teachers, classes left unattended while humanities teachers sleep in the class, kids being ignored in a room full of high powered machines by woodwork teachers and many more. Ntn happens to these ppl. They are untouchable.
Agree Child protection is only for classroom teacher.
And I guess your one of those who fabricated the stories about her too. Would like to see her go.
Vickie is okay tbh. Religion has taken over and that’s the issue at hand.
The “doctorate” is from a diploma mill. CICA operates out of a US PO box address (however, the US does use street address postal delivery), and doesn’t require any course work for a “doctorate”.
Honesty is apparently not a Christian value.
“The university’s honorary doctorate degree is based on community service and has no academic course load. To receive an honorary doctorate from CICA-International, Phinn told Miner that an applicant must first be nominated and recommended by someone the university knows; the program does not require the candidate to produce any previous academic transcripts or participate in any academic exams. Phinn also told Miner that the university does not charge an application fee for an honorary doctorate degree but requests a financial donation of some sorts.”
That chap doing the prayer intro for the governments first presser wasn’t far off that level of religious zeal – perhaps we can have a ritual exorcism of the government before each press conference.
He’d have been tolerable if he hadn’t repeated himself 15 times.
Sprinkle some holy water on Mac and see if he combusts.
Embarrassing, first the vaccines being refused and now religion being brought into schools. Only in cayman. Even more ridiculous than they religion and prayer before the government COVID press conferences. Completely inappropriate.
Religion isn’t being brought into schools. It has been in schools it is in our constitution. Christianity isn’t something that just showed up. It is culturally Caymanian. However, she had no business trying to conduct an exorcism on a child in her capacity as principal or pastor. Parents should have been notified of whatever the problem(s) were for the parents to deal with.
But still … do we have proof she was conducting an exorcism? Or, is it, children go to her for prayer and counseling as they always do at Red Bay? And besides, Cayman being a Christian nation, isn’t prayer in itself a form of exorcism? Doesn’t it run bad vibes away???
It is also inappropriate for the ignorant in this society to assume someone is simply “refusing” the vaccine when in fact there those who cannot do so because of medical reasons.
The woman should be fired. Simple.
What is embarrassing is the ignorant bashing of people who can not take the vaccine because of their health concerns but are being judged as “refusing”. What about them?
Can I ask a stupid question? Are some of those same children coming to school in clean clothes, fed and prepared for classes, or are they bringing to school and acting out what they have seen at home? Big question that needs the appropriate answer. Do I need to spell it out or say it loudly? Parents should pay close attention to their children and not expose them to inappropriate behaviour at home. They learn from their environment.
Religion – grown from greed, fueled by fear, perpetuated by ignorange. We owe it to children to protect them from predators including religious fanatics!
It’s not in any way inappropriate to have religion in the public sphere. This lady seems to have been wildly inappropriate, but that’s a separate issue.
And May is “Child Month” in the Cayman Islads??? SMH https://fb.watch/5mgJ06NURa/
