Isn’t he one of the two from Dominican that were arrested for burgularly?
To even get to the comments section you had to scroll past related stories of this same young man, the oldest of which is dated 2015. If my math is mathing correctly and he’s currently 25, this man was 15 or 16 at the time of that article.
He’s likely local. But that doesn’t seem to matter to you, or the 14 other people who, at time of writing, have thumbs upped this xenophobic aside.
It’s very easy to appeal to fools with anti immigrant rhetoric, but if you’re acting foolish and seeking approval of fools, what are you?
Multi generational Caymanian. His people are from BT and East End
Bare lie you a tell
This is crazy lol. We went to public high school graduated together and were friends in the early stages of our high school journey until he became addicted to weed, at which point I had to distance myself from his antisocial behavior. I believe our country requires educational reform—specifically, eliminating the “Caribbeanisation” of our public education system and recruiting educators from first world countries. We should replace the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CXC) with the IGCSE in the public system. Ironically, he was intelligent and an avid learner with a lot of potential, yet he succumbed to negative influences. It is disheartening to see people my age waste their potential for no apparent reason and I’ve been seeing it more and more after returning from my studies abroad at university. It’s a shame to see you take your life in this direction Luis ngl.
“Addicted to weed.”
“eliminating the “Caribbeanisation” of our public education system”
Are we not in the Caribbean tho lmao? Douchebag
I think he or she is referring to a standard that is shared by some very third world nations, along with some awful teachers film these jurisdictions.
There’s plenty wrong with the UK style of education, but there’s more of it right when compared to here.
How did the Caribeansation of the public school cause him to be addicted to weed?
Is your hypothesis that if he were able to be the IGCSE instead of CXC, he would not have become addicted to weed?
Past Governments and previous /present education Officers have done and is still doing the students and the wider Cayman public an injustice by implementing that “not fit for purpose” curriculum. Our students were much better off when they were doing GCE and IGCSE exams. We had mostly well educated Cayman and British teachers back then to teach our children. Efforts should be made to rectify that issue. Our students should be able to avail themselves of the best if we really want to get the best results.
The Brac should then ensure that the drape queen, who’s been in charge of education for most of her political career, does not get into Government.
Truth is, there are lots of successful consumers on these Islands. The fact is that cannabis consumption does not make you commit burglary. Luis had a choice and decided to lead a life of crime. Take an alcoholic for example, could they not end up ruining their life? We’ve seen way too many examples. Eat a piece of humble pie, because going away to study is a step in the right direction but does not guarantee your success in these Islands as a Caymanian.
