Man stabbed outside 7MB nightclub
(CNS): One man was stabbed and taken to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning following a fight outside Lillie’s nightclub at The Strand Plaza in the Seven Mile Beach area. A woman also received minor injuries during the violent altercation at around 3am, which police said involved multiple people. Both of the injured parties were taken to hospital treated and released.
The matter is currently under investigation, and anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information, is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.

Let’s not forget there are dozens of intoxicated and high minor children sharing that parking lot scene on any given Friday night. 15, 14, 13 years old some of them, all on Snapmap. The landlord, nightclub, liquor licensing board, and RCIPS might not think that supervising rogue minor children is their problem, but you can bet it will be if any of them fall into harm’s way. There is a social responsibility to keep that whole external area safe, intervene on expected DUIs before the fatal collisions, alcohol-poisonings, sexual assault blackouts, and all of these other events that happen in the deficient void they continue to cultivate, even while being paid for the opposite.
Every bar or nightclub that has hosted a parking lot shooting, stabbing, or beating in the last 5 years, should be required to hire at least two uniformed RCIPS officers to patrol their parking area, every night they are open, and at their expense. That is the minimum social responsibility operational cost anywhere else in the real world. If the Liquor Licensing Board isn’t requiring this, the Landlord should.
What the fart are teenagers doing there in a “parking lot” have we gone completely lawless in this country. Yes we know there is nothing for teenagers to do ( the old cry) but obviously there there is also a huge problem with the parents of these children who allow them to,congregate unsupervised in a parking lot. Government is not responsible for ya children parents, take up your responsibility and find other avenues of entertainment for your children. If you don’t you could be sorry for your Inaction one day.

I think the biggest issues here are related to the parking lot. Its a hangout. When other bars close people go there and party in the parking lot.
This guy who punched his ex was not even in the club that night. Just came to hang out and make trouble.
Super bright lights in the parking lot would be a start. Maybe a police car could patrol a little more often.
After reading some of the comments it seems like we will have to add unconscious bias and systemic racism to the list of issues that we need to deal with in 2020.

Looked to me only one other guy stepped in for a second. Others stood around to watch and video while a woman was being tackled, beat up and punched to the ground.

Simple solution. LIGHT UP THE PARKING AREA. Bright LED lights are available so put them to use as they use little power. Turn them on about 2 hours before closing and leave them on until all patrons have left the area. Landlords do this or you will lose your tenants.

This is very unfortunate as I know how hard the guys at Lillie’s work to keep everyone safe, and has been doing a great job as is still the best nightclub and most successful on island. They have even started more 21+ events to avoid younger crowds so older party goers can enjoy they selfs better around their age group. Keep up the work guys!

lillies used to have a very strcit door policy when it first opened and was easily one of the best clubs ever on cayman. they obviously need the business now and let anybody in. i was in the complex and saw the folks hanging outside on firday night….100% local/jamaican….not an expat to be seen.

Unlike tobacco, marijuana is a dangerous mind-bending drug which induces severe mental health issues for many. Ask any drug counselor, who will probably know far more about it than you. It should stay banned.

Marijuana, and even alcohol, should not be consumed by minors due to the fact that the brain is still developing. Alcohol will cause mental issues the same way in minors, why do you not want that banned?
It is proven to be safer than tobacco or alcohol for adults. Don’t like intoxicants? Don’t take them.
