Something has to be addressed, I lost my doctor in June he went for a swim on 7 mile beach.
He swam a mile and half 3 days a week and was in great physical condition.
This is 10 water related deaths of middle and senior age tourist this year.
I find it quite strange, however I do realize if you have tens of thousands of visitors in your waters each year you are certainly going to have some casualties happen.
I think that maybe new signage should be put in places at the resort hotels and along the beaches stating that the waters and currents can become to strong and challenging for ordinary swimmers with only have moderate ocean swimming experience.
Seniors should be extra careful due to the amount of endurance that would be needed to survive if caught in one of these strong currents.
Tourist will spend their money on another activity while visiting.
I just don’t understand why you don’t charge more money for the water activities and use that money to make sure you have proper staff along with these tourist excursions and water activities.
It does not seem like anyone is getting rescued in time to survive.
I have never been there and I don’t know what measures you already have in place.
Maybe you just need to bring them to light again. A little more emphassis on the safety precautions. It is also up to the individual to know their limits so they don’t endanger others who may gave to try and rescue them as well.

I hope 2020 sees some improvement I. The loss of life in these waters.

I think it is high time that the government realize the statistics of drownings. Why is it that nothing is being done. Simple fix….LIFEGUARDS…

So sad and of late, somewhat common. What is happening? What variable has been changed that has caused the apparent increase in middle aged/elderly snorkeling fatalities? I can’t recall a time prior to the last few years where it happened with such frequency.

    Rest in peace.
