Fire crew rescues four people trapped in ETH crash
Crash on Esterley Tibbetts Highway, 12 May 2019
(CNS): In yet another major collision on Grand Cayman’s roads, fire crews had to rescue four people from a two-car crash just before 9pm last night on the Esterley Tibbetts Highway. Three of them were taken to hospital, where they have been treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The southbound lanes were blocked for a short time after the crash while the people were rescued and debris was cleared away.
Officers from the RCIPS Traffic and Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses as the investigation into how the collision happened is underway.

Caribbean Drivers
Mostly, yes, but the non Caribbean expat showing off his new Audi on south sound road yesterday reminded me it takes all sorts. Can we please get more and more effective enforcement. Whay no speed cameras?
You didn’t mention the model of the Audi, but in any case I am always amazed that people purchase or import so many sports cars to Cayman. What is the real purpose of a Corvette, Alfa Romaro, Lamborgini or other super fast car? Showing off in parking lots or in front of fancy restaurants is one thing, showing off on Caymans poorly disigned and hardly maintained roads is another.
Can someone please educate these drivers that unless you’re passing traffic or turning….STAY IN THE LEFT LANE…. that’ll reduce some accidents.
I’ll educate the dumb-ass drivers of cayman reading this who did not know that next time about taking roundabouts. I don’t have the energy today!
Wow I’m surprised there wasnt fatalities in both cars. The lack of respect for the road or life is appalling.
Cyclists being mowed down, police cars involved in accidents, people on the phone, speeding trucks depositing their loads on the traffic behind, poor indication on roundabouts, speeding vehicles in residential areas, motorcycle wheelie shows almost every day and almost daily near death experiences. Driving is poor in Cayman. The police need to police all the laws and not be selective, there must be stiffer fines and penalties
Why are ther so many traffic accidents happening on the ETH? Seems like every few days ther is something going on on that piece of road!
Not just the ETH we have numerous accidents on roads all round the island, including the Brac.
i drove past there at 10 am and it was clear what happened. The car travelling North was speeding, lost control on the corner, hit the median and landed in the South bound lane hitting a car. The skid marks paint the perfect picture. The End
