Perhaps but they are not in there for nothing. Many of these young people have grave mental health issues that are left unaddressed.

So dont YOU do something about it. Start a “friends of looked after children” group and stop thinking its someones elses responsibility. The mantra it takes a village to raise a child should resonate with each and every one of us in this community. We turned a blind eye to poor parenting, we turn a blind eye to mental health, and we continue to turn a blind eye to the plight of young people at our peril.

These children in the care of CAYS are the ‘throw-away’ results of a failed society who spends far too much on luxuries and fancy cars, and far too little on raising and disciplining children. The internet and violent games are producing these feral children, and the crime and social unrest are the natural results. It’s time to stop trying to compete with the fancy cars & homes and spend more time raising and shaping the next generation to be productive and responsible adults! The present entitled and unruly youth need a wake up call before entering the workforce (or courts system!), either of which they are poorly adapted to navigate.

The internet & violent games DO NOT produce “feral children”. Do you live in the 90s? Everywhere has access to violent games and all studies have shown that violent games don’t correlate to the bad behaviour of children.

Penises and vaginas create children when no birth control methods are used. Family planning (ie. not the evangelical “be fruitful and multiply” sermon) and birth control education are we need more of. Regardless of one’s religious leanings, Men and Women should be in some kind of committed relationship before pulling the goalie and bringing an new dependent person into the equation.

Feral children! If you think feral children has anything to do with video games then you are sorely misinformed. Try, dysfunctional families, absent fathers, inadequate parenting, mental health issues caused by neglect, abuse etc. We do not know this girls story but you can bet its a sad one else why would she end up in a childrens home.

Put security officers around which place? The school or the home? As far as I understand she left the school compound and did not return to the home. The school already have security but I doubt very much that they are responsible for each student getting on the right bus and shuttled back to their home, wherever that may be. Stop blaming the school and the foster home for her issues, perhaps that is the reason she is in the home. However, whoever is harbouring her and others needs to be dragged into court and jail for their part in this.

Because its a “home” not a prison. Many children are there through no fault of their own.

She did not abscond from the home! Next you will be suggesting we tag our children and basically treat them like criminals. Help is needed.
