Stolen car found stripped down in BT

(CNS): A Silver Honda Civic that was stolen from outside an apartment complex on Keturah Street in George Town last month has turned up in Bodden Town stripped of most of its parts, police said Wednesday. The RCIPS received a report about a car that had been left in a residential area in Bodden Town yesterday. When officers went to check, they found it was the Honda that had been missing since 28 June.

The wrecked car has been taken to the Bodden Town police station for a forensic examination. The owner has been told about the discovery and the condition of his vehicle.

Now this is past the mark , a car can be completely stripped down in a residential area and no one see or say a thing about it . Didn’t these people hear about a stolen Honda car ? Did these same residents see a Honda been stripped ? Then after the Police gets tougher on the area, then they say Police is harassing them .

I really thinks that the Police needs to be patrolling Bodden town and all back roads 24/7 365 days untill it’s all cleaned up .

Which area or location in BT has not been infested or affected with these predators? They are bold and come into your property and take whatever is there. Lucky for some, they haven’t appeared in the right yard yet. They all cover for one another.

For heavens sake!! Do you think that’s all RCIPS have got to do is chase car thieves?? Granted, it is a crime, which on most part could be prevented much of the time if people actually locked their vehicles and took the keys out!! Plus safeguard their vehicles with steering or wheel locks. I’d much rather RCIPS deal with the ever escalating more serious crimes like the current gun crime, armed robberies and burglaries. Your vehicles people are insured against theft (or should be). Is it inconvenient? Yes! Have you been injured or died? No! Protect your property! I don’t think some of you really have any idea whatsoever what Policing this island entails. I’ve never seen so much crime per square mile in my 60 years. Yes, you are right, RCIPS is paid to protect and serve, but there is a limit to everything. Only so much one can do. I am an ex Police Officer of RCIPS and I can assure all you doubting Thomas’ that we were never hanging about the station on our butts! Only time we were there was to do the paperwork towards the end of the shift. A Police Officer is never off duty even when his shift finishes. So please don’t criticise RCIPS until you’ve walked a mile in those officers shoes.

You give information to some police and they sit on it. Too many of one nationality in the force, so when are they going to be contracted and not taken on as PPE employees.

You can rest assured these lazy bags here in BT wouldn’t have that kind of ambition to steal an strip down a vehicle. Too many importees in this district. And their is mainly on group of people who have the technique to dismantle vehicles and BT is 990/0 of them.

Crime to order, RCIP should check the used parts shops in Cayman for those missing parts.

Too late! This was probably stolen to order or to refurb a car for resale. The missing parts will already be on the road by now.

The Cayman Islands with it’s relatively small population – has become just like our developing countries and first world countries, with their outright thievery.

    Sad ?
