1,050 people in need get extra Christmas payment
(CNS): The Ministry of Investment, Innovation and Social Development confirmed Monday that all recipients of Permanent Financial Assistance will receive an additional $150 with their standard financial assistance distribution for this month, which will be included with the Needs Assessment Unit’s December 2021 distribution.
Minister André Ebanks said, “This increased permanent financial assistance distribution, while modest and funded by identified savings, is intended to provide additional assistance during the holiday season more than 1,050 persons who are elderly and in need, as well as those who cannot have a livelihood because of a permanent physical or mental disability.”

Recipients are elderly and disabled rendering them unable to work, plus they have already put in 50-60 years
of building their Country and are the ‘cornerstones’ of the house you live in. All Countries in the world acknowledges the contribution by them to professional and social establishment of protocols you now enjoy! You should try sit with one of these stalwart citizens and write notes and tips as to how this Country you enjoy was built and you’d not get your mouth closed from the ‘vow’ 😱position 😮! Stop the hate people. There is a sh** load of money earned here no doubt. But you can believe it that that is not the reality of the average Joe and Jane even when they are working their as*** off to earn what they do get. With my husband seaman pension, bless he soul I was he third wife you see, my pension from government, my part-time security job, the stipend from my taxi – which ah hear dey cut down – the rent from them two places I got next door, the lil numbers I hit now and then I still couldn’t figure out how I was going manage.

We must not forget those over 60 some of whom are still amongst the biggest earners receive a 50% discount from the DVDL on all fees, and others regardless of age, free handouts from the Agricultural Dept.
Since when do over 60 receive a discount? I’m 66 and have always been charged full fees!

All made possible by thousands of overseas workers brought in at sub-subsistence wage levels, depriving Caymanians with whom they compete from meaningful incomes, placing the cost of living further and further out of reach, requiring government to pay them money to support them requiring government to increase taxes to have the money to pay the support causing an increase in the cost of living!
