Coastguard finds canoe and drugs but no crew
(CNS): The Cayman Islands Coast Guard recovered a capsized canoe off the coast of South Sound on Thursday after responding to a report around 9am. The officers found several packages in the boat that they believe contain ganja but there was no sign of any crew. After searching the surrounding area and the reef with the help of the RCIPS Air Operations Unit, no one was seen and there were no indications of anyone being in distress in the area, officials said. The police were informed about the packages and an investigation has now been launched.

Well since I’m sure crew didn’t drown (unfortunately) Chris will need to add another 4 or 5 Jamaicans to our moving population count🤣. We’ll never make vaccination target at this rate
The demand is evidently high here as is expected we are locked in.
Making it legal and allowing people to grow as they would any plant is the right thing to do.
Ganja has done nothing bad to people, they are the ones harming the plant.
This can be free, as is the sunlight and the food we eat as our medicine.
Let go of the negative misconceptions to realize the benefits in anything.
Ganja is for mature minds.
More immature minds
Lets grow poppy and coca whilst we are about it.
What do suggest a Drone ops centre and HQ Camana Bay landing strip we will need a PAD from CPA for that too. Wow! more Ludicrous ideas for the surveillance feigns running around ya. Global Hawk or Reaper or Sentinel or Chinese knockoff?? You people need to get your head examined.
What. What??
Well at least 6 people understand what you are trying to say!
Drones wow not that foolishness again I suggesting a submarine lets go all out no cheap options here .Please give it a rest nah drones sales person you are starting to sound like a broken record ! Your war on drugs has been a complete failure !
If I was in charge of the security for this country. I would buy two small planes like Cessnas and employ 4 pilots. I would have patrol flights every night. I would buy go fast craft from the italian ship buliders Fb design. 2 39ft go fast boats capable of 70knots to add to the current 2 38 ft Niven D. And M. Luke. I would sell the current helicopters for a more suitable type. Most importantly hire 40 staff to work the unit. The current staffing is poor. With this investment our Borders would be satisfactoraily protected. I would say drones but they are too expensive for the type needed and they would be bought to fall into disrepair. Whatever strategy is used it needs to be sustainable. That is the issue with planning for projects. When the Cayman Guardian was bought. The budjet was approved to buy the boat but not to maintain it. Effectively we have invested in equipment which is too expensive to maintain for the country on a sustainable basis. This country can afford two small planes, 4 speedboats and the Guardian kept useable for rescues. Any more investment will eventually get neglected for maintenance due to budgets and become sitting equipment which has happened time and time again.
Israeli surveillance drones are cheaper and more effective than you think.
Sack 90% of the slobs in customs, make all drugs legal.
Remove all violent criminals from Cayman
Problem solved.
Don’t forget the free needles for all IV drug users so they can safely initiate their own demise. That’s how they do it NL.
Let’s hope the MJ found won’t “disappear” in police custody again🤣
This is how we are going to import drugs, and guns, and Covid. At this stage we should have drone surveillance keeping our borders secure. This crap has to be stopped.
Or government could legalize marijuana and stop this issue in its tracks like the rest of the world
Would not stop the guns or the cocaine or the illegal immigration. Need drones either way if we want secure borders.
The weed is the cash cow; guns, people and coke come along for the ride. What about this don’t you understand? Kill the cash cow, kill the incentive.
Let locals produce their own medicine.
Can’t fly drones, too close to the airport 😂
Should already have a drone
And what about cocaine – should we just legalize this too? Just as many users here of cocaine apparently and at least cocaine makes hyper and active and not just dazed. Far too many of your people are addicted and not just recreational users. Maybe thats why so many in our professional circles seem to use it. Careful what you wish for – it might be the beginning of the slippery slope. Once again someone sold our young people a lie and told them this is all harmless!
Cocaine doesn’t come here by boat,it just floats in to the beaches.
Cocaine is too expensive in Jamaica to come here and turn a profit,if it’s being bought cheaper from further down south then that’s a horse of a different color, it’s way more profitable to buy weed from Jamaica to feed Cayman’s sensational appetite for it so therefore legalizing it would definitely put the illegal importation style out of business and also stop a few illegal firearms from coming in.
Yes all of it. Our bodies our choice
If you care so much about health, ban KFC, sugar and all the booze stores
The only way to stop it is to legalise it, and let everyone grow their own here
Not everyone smoke weed only we have crack, heroin, ecstasy, meth and other type of drug users. I’m pretty sure the legalization of weed won’t stop the drug boats
Of course it won’t stop the drug boats.
Business will boom as more people will want it when it is decriminalized.
Demand for weed will increase .
the number of people who consume the harder drugs is significantly smaller than those who consume cannabis.
LOL! I guess you don’t know any bartenders!
But really, you don’t know much about anything here. Your statement is categorically false.
I know we can grow our own Ganja, and we can grow our own Jamaicans, but how do we grow our own guns?
🤣
Are you high?
Bigotry
They are suppose to have a drone but why its not used is anybody guess
