Over 900 people vaccinated over last day
(CNS): Thursday’s COVID-19 vaccination figures reflected a slight increase in pace, as 940 people were recorded as being vaccinated since the last report from Public Health. Chief Medical Officer Dr John Lee said that 39.9% of the estimated population, or 25,957 people, have now had at least one shot. Of those 12,347 have also had the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Meanwhile, another traveller has tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of cases in Cayman to date since testing began one year ago to 475.
There are currently 31 active cases of the coronavirus, with five people showing symptoms among the 861 people in quarantine and isolation. None of them are in hospital.

Policiations, you people can convince voters to vote for you, why don’t you convince people to get the Vaccine ?
Open the borders. They have been closed too long already. Let in those who have been vaccinated. Enough said.
As an outsider looking in I would say that anyone and everyone that can get the vaccine should there. Just look at Australia and NZ it always gets our from their isolation hotels and eventually it will in Cayman too.
May as well get the vaccine and open up safely.
There’s at least 20,000 of us who aren’t going to get the vaccine. Nobody is going any where unless you can quarantine for 10-14 days and there’s nothing you ca do about it. I don’t need to travel, so I can’t really be enticed either.
My take is that every adult has been offered the opportunity but some choose not to take it, it should not prevent the govt from opening the borders. Those individuals have chosen to live with the risk. Can’t force it on them. Also can’t keep the borders closed when they’ve been given the opportunity.
And what about the kids? All ages are getting Covid. All ages are dying. It may be just one but if that one is your child, would you have the same opinion?
Kids have more chance of dying on the roads
Agreed, it’s not worth it. Not even if the odds of a child dying from Covid is less than dying from the flu, which it is. In fact, we should never open our borders so long as there’s any risk of a child getting the flu or covid. If you disagree, you hate children…and puppies.
3:53 I agree!! Adults get to make decisions for themselves. Open the borders regardless of % vaccinated. Those that are worried about getting Covid have had the chance to be vaccinated. Those that don’t want vaccine have that right too.
You are very selfish, don’t seem to care about all the businesses going bust and people out of jobs due to border closing. Your “Cayman Kind” has shriveled up in your black soul. Just because YOU don’t want to travel, the world should stop? I’ve got news for you.. the borders will eventually open. And that’s when covid will arrive with your name on it.
Must be a troll
If there are about 50,000 adults in Cayman, that means 24,000 have not had a single shot.
Hopefully a lot more of these 24,000 step forward in the next ten days to get their first shot. There is no shortage of available vaccine here.
