A COVID-19 vaccine shot is prepared

(CNS): The Health Service Authority is keeping track of all cases of side-effects from the COVID-19 vaccine but so far no one in the Cayman Islands has been hospitalised as a result of the shots. A total of 21,262 people have received at least one dose, and Medical Officer of Health Dr Samuel Williams-Rodriguez has said that the most common side-effects here have been pain at injection site and low-grade fever. In all but a tiny number of people these symptoms have passed with no medication at all or with paracetamol.

Speaking at the press briefing on Wednesday, Dr Williams-Rodriguez confirmed that, despite speculation, there had been no serious issues. He said the hospital was keeping track because the country is obligated to report any side-effects to PAHO. According to the latest figures from the HSA, 32.7% of the estimated population has received at least one dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, while 9,890 people have completed the full two-dose course.

Meanwhile, on Thursday another three travellers tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of active cases among the 780 people in isolation or quarantine to 31. Two people are suffering symptoms of the virus.

There’s no immunity from COVID, so what’s the point of a vaccine?

Same goes for death, since we can never avoid it let’s just scrap healthcare as a whole. Solid plan.

I guess calling 911 from paralysis isn’t ‘recorded’ by HSA. People know people and in a population of 65K, news travels fast, everybody knows many peoples business. So can only assume this headline is to continue the 70% push. We are not all in a controlled bubble.

LOL hmm..wonder who is expecting reports and of what sorts? You all keep going for it 🙂

Acute self-limiting diseases are different from chronic infections.

Science haven’t spend enough time understanding how the virus impacts the body, it spent all its time going for solutions.

I bet this would go over your head and only very few would want to explore it further.

Grammatical errors aside, I’m a Caymanian Biologist. We fully understand viruses and their mechanisms. Without first understanding how it works how could we possibly find a solution?

“ye but unna na cure aids yet”

Because HIV targets and hides within the very immune cells that your body uses to fight off viruses and other pathogens. Covid infects epithelial cells.

The long lived (SPECIFIC) antibodies (in mRNA vaccines), they outcompete our natural(BROAD SPECTRUM)antibodies => loosing the most precious part of our immune system-our innate immune system.

Innate immune system protects against a Broad and largely unforeseen spectrum of pathogens, including cancer.

An antigen that SPECIFICALLY induces the production of SPECIFIC antibodies which can bind to a specific pathogen and neutralize it.

    Only time will tell.

Here is the UK Government weekly report covering adverse reactions. The Pfizer vaccine: 33207 adverse reactions, 227 Fatal for the period between 9/12/20 and 28/02/21.

Out of how many? 25 million that is less than 0.1% adverse reactions and less than 0.001% fatalities.

Acetamophine (Tylenol) is far, far worse than that

I am using your analogy here.

Out of 119M positive cases (many were repeats and/or asymptotic), 2.64M deaths = 2.2%
98% of COVID deaths had pre-existing conditions and or were obese.

Out of 7B planet Earth residents, 0.017% were positive (not necessarily sick) and 0.000037% have died

After my 2nd dose I woke up with mild fever symptoms. It means the first dose worked. I took some panadol and went on with my day – an immune response was expected. Side effects means your immune system is mobilizing.

What does it mean if you have no side effects?

    • Couoe says:

Myself, my spouse, and almost everyone we know had no real side effects to either injection —other than a sore arm and a headache. So I think it’s just how much immunity you already have, maybe you have less side effects if you’ve already had some exposure to a SARS-virus at some point.

Multiple people at our office experienced severe enough post vaccine symptoms to miss work.

Salty private sector worker who does 7-7 but gets paid for 7.5 commented this no doubt.

Rather my employees protect themselves and take a sick day than miss two weeks. I even encourage mental health sick days if needed.

Keep that “work while sick until you’re dead” culture in the USA or wherever you imported it from. A happy, well treated employee is a productive one.

Did you type this from a phone or a computer?

        • _||) says:

LOL thank you 12:19 pm. The irony with 8:44 am’s comment is so palatable.

I installed RATs and controlled my classmate’s computers when I was a teenager for giggles. I also hacked into my landlord’s wifi during lockdown while bored and got a discount on my rent for showing him how to protect his sensitive data after I disabled his phone’s internet connections at will and showed his decrypted passwords to him.

These people that think phones and computers can’t track them out the @$$ are woefully mistaken. You literally do not need to inject someone with a vaccine – I can just roll up outside of your yard within wifi range, “inject” myself into your wifi connection and you are fk’d. Seriously.

Here’s a small tip for you all: always use https:// protocol if you’re on a sensitive website and don’t want it sniffed, and use symbols in every password that you have; symbols make it a lot harder to crack.
