Armed burglar tries to assault woman in home invasion

(CNS): A 46-year-old man from Bodden Town has been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary after a frightening early morning knife-point home invasion in Beach Bay on Good Friday. Police said that the intruder awoke a woman, who was at home with just her young son, when he smashed a glass window at around 4:30am. When she heard the glass breaking she went to check and found the man at her bedroom door.

Police said the suspect, was who was armed with a knife, attempted to assault the woman before leaving the premises. The victim reported the matter to police and was able to identify the intruder.

He was subsequently arrested and charged and is expected to appear in court Tuesday.
