Seven people injured in two-vehicle East End crash
(CNS): Traffic police are investigating the cause of a collision in East End yesterday evening between an SUV and a pick-up truck that saw seven people taken to hospital. At around 6:40pm on Monday, the police were called to the scene on Sea View Road, where a red Kia Sorento and a grey Nissan Frontier had collided, causing the Kia to overturn. Officers from the Cayman Islands Fire Service extracted the five occupants from the SUV. They and the two people inside the Nissan truck were all taken to hospital.
According to a police press release, none of the seven injured people sustained life-threatening injuries.

On the dual carriage ways can the NRA does us a favour. Place simple signs saying slower traffic to the left. How many times are we seeing tourists or lorries in the wrong lane.
We complain about the high cost of living but with the amount of crashes we have I’m starting to think people have lots of money to throw away. I surely don’t so I drive responsibly, keep my vehicle in good condition and stay off the road as much as I can to avoid encountering these bad drivers. People need to calm down and take care on the road. The amount of crashes we have is just ridiculous.
The costs of these “accidents” are enormous:
– Physical injuries to people (or worse), and sometimes inability for them to work afterwards while recovering.
– Damage to the vehicles and dealing with insurance companies.
– Police, fire, ambulance using gas, wear and tear on emergency vehicles, etc.
– Inconvenience to the general public due to snarled traffic, blocked roads, etc., which causes people to be late to work, miss appointments, get frustrated, etc.
With just a bit more common courtesy we could easily cut the amount of these incidents in half.
Any dual lane or turning lane is viewed as a personal roadway for speeding and passing.
So I would like to know if they drove past one of the best Hospitals in the world and drove for 1/2 hour to one of the worst?
a by-product of rcips not enforcing basic rules of the road.
free simple solutions to terrible driving standards:
1.bring in private run traffic police who are funded by fines.
cig will makes 10x times as much on fines.
police can then do real work or we can reduce their numbers.
win-win-win.
2. as per the uk, do not accept jamaican driving license
3. if you cause an accident or get charged with careless driving , you must automatically re-sit driving test
Good ideas. As for the issues with Jamaicans. You are assuming they have valid licenses/insurance to begin with. Many cases prove this to not be the case.. :/
Speed, DUI, texting, selfishness?
