Job fair to focus on uniform services and public safety
(CNS): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is hosting a Public Safety Careers Fair later this month, which is open to all but particularly focused on prospective recruits to its uniformed services or other public safety organisations. At the event the Cayman Islands Fire Service, the Cadet Corps, the Cayman Regiment, HM Prison Service, the Department of Public Safety Communications and the Department of Community Rehabilitation, which all fall under the ministry’s umbrella, will showcase their roles in keeping the Cayman Islands safe.
There will also be representatives from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the Cayman Islands Coast Guard, Customs and Border Control, Emergency Medical Services and other organisations that focus on delivering and supporting public safety within the community, a release from the ministry said.
While the fair is open for all, officials said they particularly wanted to attract young people to the event who wish to serve their country within the uniformed services or other public safety organisations.
“As we continue to grow exponentially as a nation, the need for a robust and capable public safety sector is also rapidly growing,” said Home Affairs Minister Sabrina Turner. “I would encourage our young people to consider the heroic field of public safety and the vast number of opportunities for growth within it.”
The fair will feature a number of activities along with live demonstrations and free giveaways.
It will take place at the Sir Vassel Johnson Hall on Friday, 22 September,
from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

The average Caymanian earn anywhere between $20,000 to $50,000 a year, or $1,500 a month to $$4,000 a month working in various fields of construction, administrative, finance, legal or accounting roles
What most Caymanians are unaware of, is that while the income bracket mentioned above, is no where close to the lawyers, accounts and investment bankers that earn anywhere from $400,000 to $700,000 a year, or $33,300 to $58,000 a month, is absurded, knowing that many Caymanians who have worked hard and want to achieve something in life and have a decent or comfortable retirement cannot break the glass ceiling
I had a brief encounter at a local bar with a foriegn Corporate Attorney from one of the major law firms, who was full of homself with smiles and boasting about his $700,000 a year income, most of which is usually in cases like his, transfered to there country of origin.
Our government and our country gets nothing out of significant amounts of money so many of these wealthy business excutives that hideout behind secured gated communities and do not mix with the locals and neighter do our locals get any opportunity to gain employment in these lucrative aristocratic organizations to earn anything close to what they earn in a year, or over our life time
So why are our Caymanians so nieve and blind to the secrets and lies about who is really benefitting from our financial industry economic mircle

We do not or may not have to change or review our In-Direct Tax System of Customs and Border Control Duties on all Imported Goods, but a review and some consideration should be given to a Direct Tax on Income, Property and Corporate

Lets face it, the truth is that the Cayman Islands has a population of approximately 70,000 people, most of which are of foriegn decent
It would be very interesting for our government to openly provide a presentation breaking down our current population in real numbers indicating the following numbers, annual income and housing status:
Caymanians Citizens
Caribbean Islands by country like
Jamaican Citizens
Barbadian Citizens
Trinidadian Citizens
Latin America by country like
Honduran Citizens
Brazilian Citizens
Argentina Citizens
Filipano & Asian Citizens by country
American Citizens
British Citizens
European Citizens by country
And show the ratio of annual income and housing and residential status, such as how many of these foriegn people living on island rent or own there own home or undeveloped property and discuss with our people what there future plans are for home ownership in these islands for our local Caymanians

With the World Economic Forum predicting a major shift in traditional working careers by 2027 that will see businesses focus more on advertising and marketing automated services, forcing companies to downsize, lay off or make various position redundant
Means that a new strategy needs to be explored to create well paying jobs for local Caymanians to find honest and gainful sustainable or long term employment, comfortably afford to purchase or build there own home or apartment and afford there own transpertation as the ban on cheaper imported cars restricts importing older cars; leaving us with no other option than to purchase a brand new vehicle most Caymanians currently cannot afford
I wish that our policy makers would utilize similar economic strategies like the banning of importing older cars with the finance and banking industry interest rates, where our local retail and commercial banks charge 8% above the 7% Prime Interest Rate (a total of 15%) forcing our local people to pay an Interest Rate (3) three times higher than American, Canadian and British banking customers
