CAL battles flat tyre and med emergency in one day
(CNS): Cayman Airways Express maintenance crews on Grand Cayman acted quickly on Friday after a plane coming from Little Cayman experienced “a tyre deflation on landing”, the airline said. With the plane disabled on the runway, the crews repaired the tyre as quickly as possible and the aircraft arrived at the gate within 25 minutes of landing. However, one inbound flight and one outbound flight were delayed.
Earlier that day, there were delays to the Cayman Airways Miami schedule after a passenger on board a flight from Grand Cayman experienced a medical emergency approximately 25 minutes into the flight.
Upon landing back in Grand Cayman at 8:15am, an ambulance met the flight to assist the passenger. All other passengers remained on board and the flight departed again for Miami at 9:13am. As a result of this situation, some flights were delayed throughout the day.

Reading some of the comments is leaving me a bit deflated.
On a positive note, I have been flying Cayman Airways since 1973 and I have generally had a very good experience. The vast majority of their staff are extremely professional and courteous. It is always great getting to the airport and seeing familiar faces among the crew… you don’t get that with other airlines.
Is Cayman Airways perfect? Of course not… but I believe they deserve our support!
Don’t stop now, you are on a roll, spread your wings a bit and fly!
Getting a bit tyred of all the excuses now.
Sounds to me that they handled both incidents properly and professionally. What else do you suggest they should have done? Both incidents could have been much worse.
We see what you did there
You get the occasional good joke in the comments section but this one is a bit flat.
