Is there an anonymous $10,000 reward to help capture the culprits?

As long as Cayman relies on Third World laborers and our own ‘wannabees’ follow fashion, nothing will change about this kind of intolerable behaviour. Remember, you can take the ‘daug’ out of the city but you can’t take the city out of the ‘daugh’.

Revenge shooting or stabbing this weekend no doubt

One hates to even ask such an obvious question, but has anyone in the professional crime-fighting vocations asked Mr Imperato for a copy of the CCTV footage? If there is nothing recorded on those cameras, or they weren’t working, the victim should sue the Marquee landlord, like anywhere else in the world.

If you know how the system work, they do need eye witness for collaboration in court for better conviction

Eye witness testimony is among the least reliable forms of court evidence. Nevertheless, we’re pretty sure there is a surviving victim that could be interviewed.

Because it’s a landlords responsibility to the general public to have cctv footage of their car parks and a victim liability based around failure to provide evidence that would assist in conviction of another member of the public ( but wouldn’t actually stop the assault) ? Which law school did you go to?

The one that teaches about “attractive nuisances.”

There is an implicit commercial-public contract in drilling visible CCTV cans on the walls of exterior buildings, since it implies that there is an added buffer of security control, surveillance, and evidentiary recourse happening for a customer/tenant value add. Landlords with broken or dummy CCTV should look at the case law on personal injury and premises liability, their duty of care to provide functioning security in areas of recurring incidents, and negligence when it comes to disabled, fake, or malfunctioning CCTV. Tbh, surprised nobody has sued the Security Center in all these years for all their hundreds of broken or disabled cameras. An easy civil claim case for any victim where CCTV was installed and failed them.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, there is a whole branch of personal injury tort law devoted to specifically to lucrative negligent security cases, with 100s of cases filed every year. Most are settled before trial. 40% settle under $250,000, 16% $250k-500k, 13% $500k-1mln, 13% $1mln-2mln, 10% $2mln-5mln, and 8% >$5mln. Median payout on 10 years of cases is $1.5mln-1.7mln. Most frequent location cited are parking lots, exterior bars areas, churches (!), and schools.

Every tenant at the Marquee Plaza should demand to the landlord that that sh*t hole bar be closed. Try and go to Cafe Del Sol, Cimbaco or Ala Kabab on a Sunday. Nothing but wanna be losers drinking and smoking pot in the parking lot. RCIP. Where the hell are you.
