Inquiry opened after male skeletal remains found
(CNS): The remains of a male body was discovered by a member of the public in East End on Thursday morning at about 11am, and the police have opened an investigation to determine the person’s identity and how he died. The skeletal remains were in a secluded mangrove area and a team of officers were dispatched to the location, including the Air Operations Unit, which assisted with an aerial scan. The Crime Scene Investigations Unit has forensically recover the remains.
Police said the experts were able to determine that it was an adult man who had been in the secluded location “for an extensive period of time”, though they did not give any estimation as to how long that might have been. An investigation is now being carried out to identify the body and possible cause of death.
The RCIPS is actively seeking information about missing persons, particularly from East End, and anyone who may be able to assist is asked to call the Bodden Town CID at 947-2220. Might have been just to help locate the remains and identify any other areas of interest in context to the site from an aerial view.

An aerial view can give information a ground search cannot replicate.
A better question is why not use the drones?
Because our one drone operator is now in the Cayman regiment and no longer a cop.

Sure they could lend him back for a day. Or train a replacement – its not rocket science and they have over 400 personnel. And if they can afford a chopper a couple of off the shelf drones wouldn’t break the budget. Could pay for them with the operating cost of one chopper for an hour.
They have several drones, but not sure they have people trained up to use them effectively.
