Police sergeant charged in data breach case

(CNS): A police sergeant was suspended from the RCIPS after she was charged with a number of offences in connection with a data protection breach. The officer, who is accused of using her position to access another woman’s phone number for personal use, is due to appear in court in the New Year charged with a breach of the Data Protection Law, breach of trust and abuse of office.
