DEH urges commercial owners to pay garbage fees
(CNS): The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) has said that garbage fee bills have been generated for 2022 and all business operators and owners, as well as strata across Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, are asked to make payments as soon as possible. Garbage fees are payable biannually in January and July but owners have the option of paying garbage fees in full at the start of the year. However, all fees must be paid by June to ensure continued garbage pick-up officials said.
Outstanding accounts will not be recommended by the DEH for approval to either the Tourism Accommodation Licencing Board or the Liquor Licensing Board, for the 2022/23 licensing period, unless all arrears are settled. Customers can also contact the DEH to enquire about payment plans available, if necessary.
Garbage fees are payable by cash, cheque, debit or credit card at the main office of the DEH, located at 580 North Sound Road, from 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Payments can also be made at any of the local post offices. In the case of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, payments can be made at the District Administration office or the local post office.

Hahahahahahaha …………,…………… lol
but why….mckeeva and cig waived all residential garabage collection fees years back?
when the rest of the world is moving to ‘polluter pays’ system….cayman went 3rd world. welcome to wonderland.
10:21 am, the Government waived the residential garbage fee years ago because people like you would not pay it . Instead they raised the imported duties from 20 % to 22 % for for people, that 2 % was for the Garbage fee, but for the business still only pays 20 %. That’s why the businesses still have to pay and not the not people . Maybe you are a Johnny come lately and don’t know that.
If they don’t pay take there licenses it’s in the LAW do your job Richard Simms. This has been going on for the longest time.
trying to pay money to the DEH, like everything government touches, is a nightmare. I was trying to pay them for nearly 2 years. Is there an ability to pay them online yet?
Reread the article fully. Pay attention to the last few paragraphs.
DEH leave the commercial (skip) garbage collection to the private sector. Get the law updated so that every commercial and multi-unit residential property has to abide by CURRENT law. Not the law that existed when they were constructed.
DEH, then focus on normal residential collection and prosecution of fly-tippers. Plus management of the waste “storage ” and push the completion of the WtE solution.
Well it is odd that on Cayman Brac, not one of the contractors, landscapers, or anyone else pays after unloading their garbage.. I worked in Waste Mgt for 15 years and have never seen anything like it before..
I’ll continue to fly tip until they get their act together.
What is a fly tip?
Wasn’t that why the CIG added an additional 2% to Customs Duties to collect for garbage fees?
@6:34 The additional fees were only for private residences not commercial businesses..
Is my condo not a private residence?
