CO blames pandemic for failure to respond to OAG
(CNS): Acting Chief Officer Nellie Pouchie blamed the impact of the pandemic on the health ministry when it was already short-staffed, as she explained why the ministry had not responded to a report by the Office of the Auditor General that raised significant concerns about the pharmacy services.
National Trust seeks cash to preserve built heritage
(CNS): The National Trust for the Cayman Islands (NTCI) has formally launched the Historic Preservation Fund and is calling on the community for donations to directly support the preservation, protection and promotion of built heritage throughout the country. The Trust’s mandate is to protect historic buildings of cultural significance as well as the natural habitat.
Public health boss cutting COVID reports
(CNS): Even as the pandemic continues to rip through the community, closing offices, government departments and placing thousands of families in lockdown, the interim chief medical officer has announced plans to cut reports on the state of the pandemic to just once per week.
