US opens borders to fully vaccinated travellers

| 20/09/2021 | 33 Comments

(CNS): The US government has lifted a number of restrictions on travel from 33 countries and is instead mandating vaccinations for entry into the country for foreign nationals when the policy takes effect in early November. On Monday the White House announced the new international air travel system that will require everyone to have a negative test and to show proof of vaccination before boarding a US-bound aircraft.

The lifting of the travel bans will allow travellers from the UK and Europe into the US for the first time since the pandemic began. Travellers from the Cayman Islands had not previously needed to show a vaccine certificate as this country was not on the travel ban list.

Interesting headline as if the US borders were closed. I have been flying to the US from Europe and Asia since June 2020, long before Covid vaccinations started. Nobody asks for the vaxx proof now. Check Miami airport daily arrivals and departures-one plane after another.

My in-laws living in Madrid, have visited Miami 4 times since March 2020.

Cayman does not have the ventilated hospital bed capacity to play around. We sadly don’t. That’s the bottleneck we need to be mindful of when Delta gets applied to 71,000 people all at once….none of whom are truly vaccinated against Delta or newer mutating spike protein VOCs, if the facts matter. The vaccines certainly help reduce severity and length of experience, once the immune system kicks in, but it’s not a bulletproof vest that so many “smarter people” falsely believe it to be. This isn’t a flu virus.

      You need help.

      • Anonymous says:

Why is that? Nothing in 9:56 comment indicates the need of “help”.

        • Miami Dave says:

You are delusional. You obviously do not understand our limited ventilated hospital capacity.

You will also not be hospitalized if you are vaccinated unless you have an underlying condition.

Correct. Only “all at once” isn’t going to happen and ventilators are the absolutely last resort. Most people will ride out it at home, if they do get sick, others would only need oxygen.
Having monoclonal antibodies treatments prevent hospitalization nearly 100%.

Early on in the COVID-19 pandemic ventilators were in short supply. Now a different treatment is in demand for the sickest of Covid patients. ECMO therapy is a last-resort treatment used when ventilators fail, and its use is rising across America as younger patients fill Intensive Care Units.

ECMO, which stands for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation, is used for people who have serious illnesses that prevent their hearts and lungs from working properly. ECMO machines pump blood out of the body, add oxygen and remove carbon dioxide, and then put the blood back in. It’s a labor-intensive therapy that requires a team of specialists.

It is a flu virus when you are vaccinated.

They should have banned flights from Cayman until we allow Americans in here. I bet you’d see PACT get shit open in a hurry then!

Kenny got no reason to worry about that. He can’t go anyway

    • Anonymous says:

Ummm, Americans are allowed here. Thousands have come in over the last 18 months. Same is true of Canadians (despite the fact that Caymanians cannot go to Canada).

      • Anonymous says:

True, I just completed another travel buffer quarantine. So worth it. Caymanians can go to Canada with a Travel Letter loaded up to ArriveCan App – from school, family, or business.

      • Anonymous says:

Caymanians are allowed to enter Canada and do not need to quarantine as long as they are vaccinated.

      • Big Bobo In West Bay says:

Caymanians need to be fully vaccinated to go to Canada now. No exceptions.

Caymanians don’t be stupid and get vaccinated.

      • Anonymous says:

Most Americans don’t have enough vacation time to do a 7,10,14 day quarantine.

Caymanian-American Families are the really the only ones benefiting from the Cayman-U.S. Repatriation Flights, by Cayman Airways.
My Family is hasn’t yet left Cayman, but was happy to hear the news of the U.S. opening its borders in November. It had been a proverbial “breath of fresh air.”

    Sounds sensible!

Given that we have a higher vaccination rate than the USA, why can’t we do that here?

It’s about time Cayman reintegrated with the rest of the developed world.

as i keep saying… restricting the movements of the ignorant unvaxxed is the way forward and is being used world-wide.
why is cig silent on this???

    • Anonymous says:

Maybe they are worried that too many of their voters would be upset? They are also silent on vaccine passports for non-essential businesses which has worked well in many places and could easily be part of a safer border reopening.

    • Stop the name calling says:

Wake up and think critically. Stop calling others names with whom you disagree with. There is enough division in the world without stoking the flames.

On the topic of COVID, first figure out how the virus came about. Once you have figured this out then ask yourself who created it and for what purpose. Then ask yourself who came up with the “solution” and does the solution work. Finally, ask yourself if there are any other options to preventing or treating COVID.

I believe if you do these things you will be much more open to constructive dialog that will help eradicate the problem of COVID, the lockdowns, fears, etc.

      • Memyselfandi says:

Nah, bro, calling people like you “stupid” is accurate and a public service.

        • you prove the point says:

The laugh is on you as you prove my point. But perhaps because you type in tough guy slang, you believe you have credibility.

    • Anonymous says:

Sure. Continue your punitive measures. You will need me before I need you. I will be just fine. I don’t need your social interactions. Good luck surviving the coming years. I really mean that.

They will realize that they will be safer with the unvaccinated soon.
