Everglo and Vics bar should change thier slogan to “come for the shooters”. These bars need to go. Bananas can join them.

Be thankful we don’t have a bunch of influential gun nuts in Cayman pushing the lie that legalizing guns would solve this. Can you imagine how bad it would get if our laws were changed and guns became easily available in stores? Don’t ever let clueless wackos convince you that more guns brings safety and security from guns. America is glaring proof that it doesn’t work.

The government should consider a curfew. Lock it tight from 1200 oclock. There is no need to be on the road all hours of the morning.

Cowards and pretend thugs, what happened to good old fisticuffs? On the world stage Cayman is touted as a safe paradise except for cesspits like these so called “local”bars like Jungle, Bananas, and Everglo or colloquially known as “dump road bar”. These bars need to be given a final ultimatum, one more outbreak of violence and you’re done, over, closedown for good. Maybe there’s something bigger at play with the owners and some influential clients. ? On a good note there’s always Mango Tree, South Coast, and Office which never seem to be continually plagued with violence. The good ones really speak to integrity of their owners/managers and what they’ll put up with. I do agree and have heard many times that changing up the ambiance (music) might just solve the problem. Maybe these violent events boost their popularity amongst the thugs they attract? If so they all need to close permanently now.

What is going on on this island? Shootings, stabbings, killings by drunk drivers – I’m not sure I want to come back even when you re-open, and I’ve just spent a week in London!

How can this happen when guns are illegal in Cayman?

    • Anonymous says:

People knows who have guns but they won’t call TIP line to report! So next time of shooting it could be one of your relative will get shot.

Some of the bars seem dedicated to the celebration of thuggery. Three violent events should be enough to shut them down. Permanently. Some of these places have more than three every year, and that’s just those that are reported.

In the name of progress Cayman. Until we stop relying on third-world labourers, this sh** will continue to dominate our societies. Do not forget “You can take the [duag] out of the city but you can’t take the city out of the [daug].”

Dominate our society? The hyperbole doesn’t help.

Good luck having a working economy without those so-called “third-world labourers”

Lol not true, See Belfast and Derry, bombings, shots to the knee, batons to the face. You ever heard of the little Irish black book? No, I am sure you have not, point is every nation has a deplorable truth especially the Irish, not to mention the racism.

    • Anonymous says:

Yeah because it’s the thousands of guys busting their a55 out in the sun 10 hours a day in our gardens and construction sites that are going out till 3am shooting people. Those “third world labourers” you so arrogantly call them are some of the hardest working, most decent guys you’ll ever meet anywhere on the planet. I’d put good money on you only being in your nice air conditioned tedious office job by pure accident of birth.

Dump Road Bar is exactly what the name implies. Whoever goes there is going into the dump. Plain and simple. Anyone with some calibre would not be seen in such as place.

The only people that don’t have the ability to adequately protect themselves are the law abiding citizens of this country. The police and the politicians have failed in their basic and fundamental responsibility to keep the citizens safe from violent crime and continue to fail by continuing to leave law abiding citizens exposed and vulnerable to the violent criminals.

    • Anonymous says:

I know! Let’s all get guns and then we can all protect ourselves from each other, just like the good old U S of A

  17. Anonymous says:

The problem is you can’t just shut these bars down as these low-lives will just migrate to another bar… Not sure what the solution is but something needs to be done as this is getting ridiculous.

Right now at this present moment in time the Gov does not have a clue how many people or on the island …and the amount legal refugees that we have because that’s what they are they are here because they don’t want to live where they came from …they have no intention of bettering themselves or any contribution to cayman we are now a nation of janitoral workers gardeners and general laborers who just keep turning up weekly

  19. Anonymous says:

Why is there not a more visible police presence outside some of these places to protect those innocent people who want to just go and have a good time? A few pieces of scum ruining it for the majority.

    • Anonymous says:

Strange how it’s the same bars over and over. And yet innocent people keep going there. And the licencing board doesn’t shut them down. And the police don’t sit out side at chucking out time. Talk about not learning from experience.

  20. Anonymous says:

They keep shooting each other at least. It’s sad to see how many low life wannabe gangsters live here.

  21. Elvis says:

Same old third world bars where all the idiots congregate and shoot each other it seems .

    Hmmmmm
