Governor Martyn Roper after being vaccinated

(CNS): Government leaders and doctors who all received their COVID-19 vaccinations in front of the cameras on Thursday morning all appear to be unscathed. The publicity stunt at the hospital was designed to encourage the wider public to step up and take the shot too in order to inoculate the entire Cayman community against the virus as quickly as possible.

Government will be holding a press conference at 2pm today where the details of the national vaccination programme will be outlined and a number of questions about the current management of the pandemic here will be addressed.

How long is the vaccine good for after getting the second shot, is it good for one year? 5 years ? 10 years ? Does anyone know how long ?

Unscathed! This is a disappointing and irresponsible headline. There is no plan B. We either vaccinate or live with this virus for the rest of our (shortened) lives. Covid will not go away by itself any time soon. Unless enough people have the vaccine we will not be able to protect each other and the economy will be further degraded as more jobs go.

‘Unscathed’? Seriously, it’s an injection people, what the hell did you think would happen?
    For heavens sake grow up.

    We invite truth seekers……

Heidi Neckelmann, the widow of Dr. Gregory Michael, said her husband was vaccinated on Dec. 18, and died 16 days later. He was 56 years old, according to Sputnik. Patients typically receive a second dose of the vaccine 3 weeks after the first. Neckelmann also shared the news in a Facebook post, cited above.

“In my mind his death was 100 percent linked to the vaccine. There is no other explanation,” she said. “He was in very good health. He didn’t smoke, he drank alcohol once in a while but only socially. He worked out, we had kayaks, he was a deep sea fisherman,” she added.

CNS: A grieving window’s guess is not an autopsy.

A spokesman for the CDC said the agency is investigating only one death in which a vaccine is suspected to have played a role.

CNS a John Hopkins University blood specialist,Dr. Jerry L. Spivak agrees with Mrs Nickelmann.

No it’s not an autopsy, but he has more knowledge than you would, dont be so quick to discredit something you know little to nothing about..

CNS: The Miami-Dade County medical examiner’s office is currently investigating the death. We should all wait for the results. Stop reading things into my comments that aren’t there, silly.

Yes, sorry for being concerned about other people. We really need to stop being so selfish!

  7. Anonymous says:

Actually it was leading by example. Labelling such an important matter as a publicity stunt is irresponsible.

How would we notice any difference?

There wont be any reactions im almost sure. its like any other medicines. some people react some don’t. thousand upon thousands of people have been through testing with this drug. My 80 year old father took it 4 weeks ago and he is totally fine and gets his 2nd one today.
its like everything else some are allergic to nuts, seeds, penicillin, aspirin etc so people need to make up their own mind and just decide and either take it of hush. Scaremongers out there all over the place are not helping anything.

What did you jokers expect? Immediate zombification? It takes time… lol.

I am waiting for my chance to get the vaccine. I will be happy to get it!

  12. Anonymous says:

because its the second one that normally creates the reaction

Pfizer’s vaccine must be kept at –70 degrees C (–94 degrees F). Once transferred to a refrigerator, it must be administered within five days. And you can only open the box one or two times a day.

Each Pfizer vial actually supplies five doses. How is that handled?
The place doing immunization adds a dilutant, creating five doses. At that point the solution is good for six hours. So a clinic has to figure out how many people will be vaccinated, and it starts the dilution process for that day.

places need to line up a lot of recipients so vaccine is not wasted. each Pfizer tray has 195 vials, each with five doses, so that’s about 1,000 doses. And a box can hold up to five trays. you’d want to line up enough people at one location to use a tray of vaccines within five days.

There needs to be a mechanism at the end of each day where people can do walk-ins and if there are extra doses which would otherwise get discarded then they can get their shot.

Either that or some way of registering interest so that HSA could call or email people at 2pm (example) to come in that day only for their shot.

Otherwise there will be wasted doses each day

How will we know the vaccine that we getting is not spoilt ?

    For now….

Getting a vaccine is now a publicity stunt… Luckily they were unscathed. Tune in tomorrow as Aldon attempts to walk a tightrope across Camana Bay!
