Teenage mugger caught and charged

(CNS) UPDATED: A 19-year-old man has been charged with robbery following his arrest in the immediate wake of a mugging on the West Bay Road, near the Margaritaville Resort, at around 5:30 Saturday morning . The victim had been robbed of his cell phone but police responded immediately, including an off-duty officer who spotted a young man fitting the description speeding on Eastern Avenue.

That officer followed him and kept the police who were en-route informed over where the suspect was and they were then able to apprehend and arrest the teenager. Officers also recovered the stolen phone.

The young man was due in court Monday.
