Illegal immigrant wanted after violent encounter
(CNS): The Department of Immigration (DOI) is hunting for a Jamaican national who is suspected to be in Cayman illegally and who threatened immigration officers wanting to question him with a machete when they encountered him this week in West Bay. Officials are asking the public to help locate Fabian “Jason” Hubert Williams (43), who is about 5’7” and weighs around 170lbs. He has dark complexion, dark brown eyes and black hair, and is known to frequent the Mount Pleasant area of West Bay. Williams was last seen in Peanut Lane in the area on Monday, 25 June, when he threatened officers with the machete before jumping through a window of an abandoned building and running off through a dense thicket of thorn bushes.
It is believed that he has no right to be on the islands. DOI officials are therefore reminding the public that it is an offence to help someone who does not have legal authorisation to remain here, which carries a maximum penalty of CI$50,000 fine or seven years imprisonment.
Anyone who sees Williams or knows his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to immediately contact the confidential information hotline at 1-800-Legalim (1-800-534-2546), or email legalim@gov.ky. The public can also provide information by calling 911 or their district police station.

Kudos’s message embodies exactly why the Cayman islands is in the mess it is in today. Archaic, biased thinking that doesn’t belong in a modern maturing society. Yesterday, today and tomorrow can be for any law abiding citizen who knows how to follow rules, regulations and policies. I have to wonder, is there anything these people won’t try to justify no matter how clearly wrong it is?
And wouldn’t have been legal for the Law Enforcement Officers to have shot the hand of which he was holding the machete in . they should have in self defense .
Help the Police , not him . Because he sounds to be a threat to everyone , except the mother of his children .
And they don’t have a phone to call the cops with guns for backup!?
Deport him and never let him back. He loses all sympathy when he threatens people with a machete.
Welcome to the Cayman Islands where everyone has something to say about someone.
I dont give this man right for what it is reported that he did.
But for God sake this man has been in the Cayman Islands for over 16 years i understand and has 2 Caymanian Children with his ex wife who is Caymanian.
This is a human being like all of us are. May we be sensitive to his current situation and pray for him instead of doing what we do best which is jump to our own conclusions and imagination thoughts which often time are off.
The immigration obviously were just as aware of him being there as he was and im thinking that his harfships and struggled may have hindered him from legalizing himself.
For once may we as a community and people ve considerate to this man condition, situation and mental and emotional state at current and offer him prayers and help where you can.
He dont have to be related or known to me for me to speak the truth.
Yes he is wrong if he did what he is said to have done. But as God daily extends his grace and mercy towards us. May we be sympatetic towards this situation.
He is Human too and it could have been me or you that had found ourselves in his shoe.
May the Mercy of God speak for this man and may the Mercy of God help us all knowing that hardship and struggle can take anyone.
Today may be for Jason but who knows who tomorrow may be for.
Only God know
A Concerned Individual
I suggest he turn himself in quickly.
Folks please read the article before commenting.
Sorry , but you are implying two sets of rules & laws for people & disguising it with your imaginary god that it is OK , as an excuse for law disregard , law breaking, threatening violence to authorities . Other residents and citizens have to abide by the laws here . Hopefully he will be apprehended quickly & face a magistrate .
The law is the LAW mr or mrs kudos. It is put in place for a reason. I also hate your opening statement, if you do not like the Cayman Islands and leave. Please also tell us more about where youre from.
Try and argue without the stale leave CI if you don’t like it here comment. I was with ya until you threw in that unnecessary line. No disrespect but it implies that if you aren’t from here you aren’t allowed to criticize things you don’t agree with. While I think the original poster is bat S crazy, I enjoy freedom of speech. Bless.
“This is a human being like all of us are”
Sorry, most of us human beings no matter what our “hardships and struggles” may be, would never threaten anyone with a machete. I’m not going to feel sorry for this guy or be sympathetic.
We are going to build a wall, and Jamaica’s going to pay for it.
and they will get over it????
Make Cayman Great Again!
Jamaica is not the problem, the problem is the elite that comes from all corners of the world here to seek sanctuary and change laws fit for their own pleasures,in case you didn’t know the first caymanians born here were of Jamaican parents and Jamaica has always been like a big brother to this island in many ways even standing in the way of hurricanes when heading in our direction, when Ivan hit Cayman it was much weaker because of Jamaica’s vast mountain ranges and if it had been any stronger we would have been blown completely off the map,the real problem with Cayman is that we have invited these foreign God less devils here to bring their crosses among us because we are a kind and welcoming people not knowing what type of nasty cultures that these people came from, we here are truly the meek because we sit back and allow them to do what they want without regard for our living and culture, what our ancestors should have done was be the real pirates and make them all walk the plank, anyways if you all going build a wall then make trump pay for it.
I love Jamaica. But Jamaica has alot of criminals that will do Cayman no good!
Hence, no offence, we need more stronger and better border protection from Jamaican rotten apples. And we need to teach our young people about the opportunitists who come here and mess with our young women and men to marry them and get papers. How they can pretend and what is real love. I wonder if they are teaching these things in our high schools? They should!
Lol. When close to 70% of the criminal element caught in Cayman is of Jamaican descent you come to the conclusion that Jamaica is not the problem. Nice logic.
Source for that statistic?
Good luck last year i gave information on a convicted felon to the immigration department who is convicted here too These people need to go home immigration stop dragging your feet. Why are been harboring these criminals on this island??? An illegal immigrant threatening armed police and immigration officers escapes wow !!! No canine unit????
He should’ve been in the USA, and run. He would’ve been in another world today. Only in the Cayman Islands they can come and take over. Get him out of here ASAP.
The reality is that whether intentionally or by sheer incompetence, immigration are themeselves in effect harbouring a great number of illegals and are taking little to no action at all against many of them.
He “threatened immigration officers wanting to question him with a machete”?
Is it normal for immigration officers to question suspects with a machete?
lol……… HE threatened the immigration officers with a machete
But that is not what was written. Do you not see how that works?
You must build your sentence structure in order to be clearly understood.
Well, one would think that if the officers questioned him with a machete, they might have gotten more answers.
Lol!!!!
@6.35am
Lol
Execute, can’t pardon.
Execute can’t, pardon.
1. Why do.people always pick on law enforcement? All officers are not armed and I dont think they should foolishly endanger their lives . The job is risky enough.
2. The article says that he threatened immigration officers who wanted to question him with a machete CNS I know what you mean but badly worded sentence. LOL
Give credit where due, at least they actually knew of the illegal lander and made the effort to apprehend him ! They need to target the on Island contacts rendering assistance to these individuals.
Smh. What are you saying??
This man was given TIME to leave the Cayman Islands. He could have left and came back legit – but he chose to overstay!
Having Caymanian children (out of wedlock) makes no difference. Just obey the law, man!
How many years he has been in Paradise? Dis ah feh me Hume saw!
We haven’t seen anything yet. The strong hand of the law need to be used – these people are nothing to play with. SH’s
Honestly… the man is in front of the cops and he can’t be detained!?
I try to always show gratitude and respect for RCIPS but it’s things like this that make me wonder, well what part of the training is omitted that they cannot apprehend a 57 year old man!? Our cops are meant to be fit and agile!? Yet this guy runs away and now they want our help?
Say we give them a tip of where he is, whose to say they won’t flippin lose him again. Geeesh c’mon guys
Hey 10.14 pm, where in the article did it say “cops” or “RCIP”? Those were Immigration officers who are not normally armed. Why do you not read before posting foolishness? So common!!!
7:31am, uniformed officers. The usual behaviour of those type of illegals. Where is Donald Trump??
Read much? 5 foot 7 inches and 43 years of age.. with a machete!
Once again our law enforcement is unable to detain a person when he was right in front of them, sad.
Difficult to wield a machete or run with a taser dart in your chest. Just a friendly suggestion.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Yeah as much as I agree with you, you know the bleeding hearts of society would probably say it was excessive force and they should have tried other ways to detain him. I say tase his ass and every time he says something hit him again.
I doubt that. Tase away.
Which would be fine if immigration officers had tasers. As they don’t your comment is pointless.
Is it possible that you may be the one missing the point..?
Surprised he didn’t find some fool to marry.
He’s working on it. Super busy being on the run
LOL!! I’m sure he’s working on it….
