Grand Cayman cocaine haul, found 3 March

(CNS): A massive 18 kilogram haul of cocaine that washed up on a North Side beach this weekend has been destroyed, police said. The drugs, which would have had a street value in excess of $216,000, were spotted around 4pm on Saturday by RCIPS Air Support Unit officers aboard the police helicopter, which was on border patrol in the area of the North Side coastline. Having seen the suspicious packages at the water’s edge, the chopper hovered over the beach while a member of the crew got out to retrieve what turned out to be several packets of cocaine.

Markings on the packages suggest that the costly drug haul was being trafficked internationally and not destined for the Cayman Islands.

The drugs were disposed of on Tuesday, the RCIPS confirmed.

Can’t believe that RCIP has no clue who is involved in this drug trafficking business on Island end……….Me thinks someone or some are perhaps protected at a very high level?

10:42pm you know what time is certainly biggest consumers who by the way never ever get arrested by the local bobbies on da beat .Too many drinks by bar on their day off plus looking out for their fellow expats that’s how tings run bout ya! 8:34am is just upset you pointed it out and became lost for words so he pulled the old race card which is the usual trick when they dont like the truth or the reality of what is going on in our little island run by them. This unfortunately goes further than this one dynamic of their expat community. Subtle corruption and bias right here on our own little island poor cayman so many threats to our very existence today because our no use piece of shit politicians are indifferent to our suffering because workpermits fees have enlarged their greedy guts and egos.

Because they want to appear “productive” and do the “right” thing by destroying the drugs. They make it known to the public as they are constantly ridiculed for doing a shitty job. It doesn’t hurt to think outside the box mate.

Is the Police destroying these canoes ? Or are they selling them and keeping them in the trade ? If they were destroying them would be helpful . Just think of it when the drugman can spend $200 and be back in business, VS $10,000. to get back in business.
