Man in coma as cops seek witnesses to attack
(CNS): A 50-year-old man is currently in a coma fighting for his life after being “severely beaten” in an attack in East End. Police are appealing for witnesses to the brutal assault, which they said happened in the early hours of Saturday morning near to the Pirates Cove Bar. The man was found unconscious by an RCIPS officer on patrol at around 1:00am on 20 August, across the street from the bar on Sea View Road. The police officer provided first aid and called the emergency services. The victim was taken to the George Town hospital.
Having since undergone brain surgery the victim is at Health City Cayman Islands in East End where he remains in a coma in critical condition.
Police understand that a second person may also have been injured in the attack and they are now seeking witnesses and want to hear from anyone who may have information.
The public is asked to call Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220 or 947-2240.
Anonymous tips can be provided via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.
Wow and the RCIPS without Baines is allegedly showing improvement!!!!9
Yes they have improved since Baines left, an arrest has already been made.
So basically the same senior officers didn’t do anything before and now they are?
Is that because they are now working for one of their own not from foreign?
Why didn’t they just take him direct to Health City?
People of East End, if you know who committed this crime, please tell the police. This could be one of your family members.
Please anyone with information on this call the police. This kind of behavior is going to far. For the love of our country, family, guest and friends it must STOP NOW.
That won’t happen; those “people” up there don’t talk.
EE is a sick place to be, especially after hours. Lawless place, and wicked set of people.
Like westbay ?
Mmm I hate to agree, but I do agree. I have worked up there for 8 years and it is very deprived and somewhat backward thinking. They do not like outsiders coming in and are in their own little bubble of ignorance nastiness. I am ashamed to be Caymanian sometimes because they can be very hostile and racist towards anyone who is not from the island or the Caribbean in general. Obviously, there are some very nice people there too, but on the whole its like an episode of Jerry Springer.
