(CNS): A 37-year-old woman has admitted stealing four pieces of jewellery worth around $26,000 from a store on the West Bay Road in November last year. Madeiny Rodrigues-Ebanks pleaded guilty Tuesday to stealing a diamond ring, a gold necklace, a diamond pendent and a charm bracelet from Mitzi’s Fine Jewellery. Ebanks was bailed to return to court for sentencing in April after Magistrate Valdis Foldats ordered a social enquiry report and a victim impact report.

Few details of the offence were revealed at the time. Police arrested Ebanks shortly after a robbery had been reported at the store in the heart of the Seven Mile Beach tourist area. They issued a public appeal to find the woman as she was wanted in relation to several “incidents” at the shop before the alleged robbery, police said at the time.

On Wednesday 18 November police had received a report that one man, armed with a handgun, had been involved in an armed hold-up at Mitzi’s. Although one man was arrested shortly after and a vehicle seized, he has not been charged in the case.

Stealing from employers. It’s what some Caymanian women (too many) do instead of knitting.
Been going on here a long long time.

    Cuban – Caymanian

Thank you 9:58 she is a Cuban but – Caymanian by paper. All of these crimes aren’t being committed by Caymanians

But this crime was committed by a Caymanian unless you are racist. If you are racist it wasn’t.

Do not ignore the fact that her actions warrant the revocation of her status and deportation. The fact that this is only because she is not a born Caymanian does not make it racist.

But when the crime was committed she was a Caymanian. Your different attitude towards paper and other Caymanians is the sort of sick deep routed racism that causes so much harm.

No. It simply means we made a mistake in letting her come here and she lied to the authorities as to her character. Thankfully we can recover from our error by undoing our mistake by sending the Cuban (formerly Caymanian) thieving piece of excrement back to where she came from.

It is not racist. I would expect and insist that every foreign national who comes here and betrays our trust to be treated identically.

American, British, Cuban and Jamaican. No difference.

They are they ones that we need more of?
