Voters list confirmed at 23,609
(CNS): With less than two weeks to go, the Official List of Electors for the 2021 General Election came into effect on Thursday. Following the Claims and Objections hearings, the number has dropped by 39 names to 23,609 from the draft list of 23,648 published in February. So far, 587 eligible voters have already cast a mobile vote and 347 postal ballots have been issued, as of 1 April.
The deadline for early voting applications is Tuesday, 6 April. For more information about who can apply and how to submit an application, visit the Elections Office website, email office@elections.ky or call the Elections Office at 1(345) 949-8047.
“Being able to vote is a tremendous opportunity for members of the community to have their say by electing the individual they wish to represent themselves when making the important decisions that affect their lives. We strongly encourage everyone eligible to vote to exercise this right on Election Day,” said Supervisor of Elections Wesley Howell.
According to the breakdown of voter demographics, the average voter is aged 51, and over 53% of voters are women. The constituency with the youngest average voter is Newlands at 46, while Cayman Brac East is home to the oldest average voter at 57.
Overall, young people are still much less likely to be registered to vote, with less than 1,600 registered voters aged 24 and under, compared to the most engaged demographic of 5,141 people aged between 45 and 54 who are on the voter list.

Let this chart be a lesson to you young people who don’t vote/ register. If there is not a large amount of young ppl registered they will never appeal to you, they will continue with the same issues and policies that appeals to the older generation. That is why no one is talking about cannabis. Grow up an register
Well there is no weed so I guess no vote
There are STILL persons on there that left the island decades ago. Some verification process they use! 🤣
There are STILL a people on the list that are NOT Caymanian, and no one seems to give a shit! The whole thing is an exercise in keeping up appearances, at a cost of millions.
Back country council elections.
Nearly 24,000 out of a population of what, 65,000? I guess the old principle of no taxation without representation does not apply in Cayman where we are ALL subject to consumption taxes via import duties, stamp duties etc.
Then get registered to vote and increase the numbers..sitting there complaining ain’t going to help..
11:43, I hope you are not a voter as you miss the point completely and we would not want voters with low IQs would we? The vast majority of the people living here and paying taxes/duty/ revenue enhancing measures/ stamp duty are not allowed to vote, even though many of them have been living here for donkey years. You get the point now? No taxation without representation.
Donkeys years is 15+. If you have not become Caymanian and registered to vote by then, only you are to blame.
well, well, why not leave and go back to low wages subject to income tax PLUS the few you pay for here, because clearly if you moved here the representation you were getting for your taxes back home could not have been impressive. Be grateful or leave, thanks.
Remember, that 65,000 estimate includes lots of persons under age 18 and other persons not eligible to vote (e.g. noncitizens).
65,000 is an underestimate. There are 25,000 here on work permits alone. Another 10,000 are Permanent Residents or dependents (including on work permit holders, Permanent Residents and Caymanians). Add 35,000 Caymanians (including children) and the number is nearer 70,000 without taking into account snowbirds.
Go back to your country if you want to vote or go thru the process to get status then you can vote TF are you implying we let everyone vote and let foreigners be allowed to run for politics as well ? Yeah don’t think that will happen anytime soon
