Ossie congratulates winners
(Statement): My dear friends and supporters: As we awaken this morning to a new dawn and a new day in the political landscape of these islands, I would like to congratulate all those elected to the high office of government, a position that should be respected and dignified at all times. I would especially like to acknowledge and thank my colleagues Wayne PantonWayne Panton: Candidate for Newlands. He was Minister for Financial Services, Commerce and Environment (2013-2017). Biography: Panton successfully ran as a PPM candidate for one... More and Heather BoddenHeather Bodden: Candidate for Savannah. She currently manages Wayne Panton's Savannah/Newlands Community office. Biography: Bodden served as a representative for Bodden Town from 1995 until... More for an amazing run and subsequent victory. I’m so proud of you both. Thank you to all our families and those that worked side by side with us.
Although I was unsuccessful here in Bodden Town East, I recognise the people have spoken and they have the representative of their choice. We ran a good, clean campaign and we are proud of the way we used the platform afforded to us. We trust that at the end of the day some aspects of the vision that we presented will be bought into and become a reality for the benefit of Cayman and its people, and especially for our future generations. Without that focus I believe we will have failed.
We are at a serious junction in the development of these beloved Cayman Islands that we are proud to call home. If we do not take a serious pro-Caymanian stance and put Caymanians first, it will have all been for nought. Proper education, jobs, homes and quality of life MUST be at the forefront of our minds, and we must ensure these islands are developed in a sustainable manner for our descendants to enjoy the peace and tranquility that we have become accustomed to, and which our ancestors fought to provide for us. Environmental concerns and a return of respect for all among us and what we can offer these islands will be paramount in our success going forward.
Five females elected to Government is a good start, but we have to keep pushing for greater equality and inclusion for all in our community. We must care for and respect our youth, elderly and those with special needs and then we will have a community of which we can be truly proud.
Families create community and COMMUNITY CREATES COUNTRY'Community Creates Country' is the campaign theme of a group of Independent candidates, namely Wayne Panton, Osbourne Bodden and Heather Bodden, who are running in... More, folks, and we must strive for this at all times.
God bless all of you and your families. God bless these Cayman Islands.

Classy move.
Really good comments Ossie. Sorry you did not get back in. Looking to more inclusion from you.
Courteous move, Ossie, as should be expected in real politics.
I hope his inclusion = Driftwood too?
Well it’s much better than those bedtime stories told by John John.
9:35am. Are uplifting the winner to the Jackass/FullMoon status? Just asking out loud. The perfect representative.
