Man critically injured in 3-vehicle crash

(CNS) UPDATED MONDAY: Police are appealing for witnesses to the serious smash in Bodden Town on Saturday night in which one man was seriously injured. Officers said he remains in hospital in a critical condition as they urged anyone with information to contact the traffic unit. A 31-year-old man has already been arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving following the smash on Shamrock Road but has since been bailed.

The RCIPS said that around 8:30pm on Saturday, 14 September, they and other emergency services were called to the scene of the a three car pile up near Brightview Drive.

Police said that one man was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by the Cayman Islands Fire Service. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital in George Town, where he is currently being treated. The man arrested on suspicion of DUI was later bailed as the investigation continues.
