It is not uncommon to see cyclist riding on the wrong side of the road, sometimes at night without lights. Cyclists need to remember they must also abide by the rules of the road and that not doing so will put them at risk of accident and serious injury.
Reading the comments it’s interesting to see that everyone seems to automatically blame the bus driver. They seem to have conveniently ignored the fact that many cyclists ride like complete dick heads. Maybe they are cyclists?
Government has long failed to implement a proper public transportation system, which includes strict monitoring of driving standards. This is desperately needed on Island. I note with disappointment that new roads are being built and no strategically placed bus stops have been included. No foresight whatsoever!
This random pulling over by busses, blocking half of a lane and then forcing their way into traffic needs to stop. Busses should only be allowed to stop at designated bus stops.
Police needs to do a crack down on busses (including school busses) and businesses which haul illegal trailers (ie no license plates and no break lights). This is getting ridiculous, everyone just does what they want.
Yes, many public bus and taxi drivers are terrors on wheels but many cyclists ride on the wrong side of the road, ride without lights, etc. One has to take a certain amount of care over one’s own safety!
Who knows who could be at fault in this case?
Collided with a bus travelling in the same direction – so not on the wrong side. Just because some idiots do that don’t jump to assumptions, in the same way that can’t assume the bus driver is at fault just because some of them drive like maniacs.
bus driver = Jamaican = uneducated driver. WTF! just sit back and let them run people down. the don’t own the road CIG! Get off your lazy “Rice & Pea ^&&” and do something about this…..people are being hurt and killed!
FYI the driver was caymanian but it doesn’t matter there was someone injured here so stop discriminating
Parking at supermarkets are private property, the police can’t do a thing.
Police in general is a joke here of course…..
Police really have failed in some significant areas in Cayman – prosecution of those flouting traffic laws and prosecuting child molesters are areas where urgent attention is needed!
Public Transport drivers freely endanger us all everyday…and many others too…with little fear of even being warned by Police. And don’t even mention the many persons parking on yellow lines (especially at supermarkets) all day long everyday with no action by Police!
Some thing really needs to be done about how most of the bus drivers and taxi drivers, speed and drive like crazy
That’s a big jump from traffic violations to molesting children. You seem like a joy to hold a debate with.
Go back to your country…big joy
That’s a grown up response. Rather proves his point.
Appreciate your constructive criticism clown fish. You want PR with that??
